Jessica Gomes wore a knockout dress at the InStyle Women Of Style Awards on Wednesday - but it was the accessory on her finger that stole the spotlight.

The Sports Illustrated model, 32, was photographed wearing a gold ring on her wedding finger, which featured a large spherical setting.

She has been dating Australian actor Xavier Samuel since September last year, and the jewellery sparked rumours of a possible engagement.

But The Daily Telegraph reported on Friday that Jessica's agent had later confirmed to the publication she is not engaged.

Talk of an engagement comes after Jessica described her relationship with the Twilight actor as 'serious'.

She told InStyle magazine: 'I'm very happy. It's felt really easy and we bring out the best in one another. I'm beaming right now with love!'

Jessica and Xavier find themselves travelling for work often, and she explained they make sure to FaceTime to keep in touch.

'We're just really open and honest with each other about where we're at, and we communicate really well,' she added.

The David Jones ambassador, from Perth, has previously spoken about the possibility of having children in the future.

She told The Daily Telegraph in January: 'I really hope that when I have a family I can travel a lot with them and be able to kind of move around.

'I definitely want my children to know and understand Australia.'
