She is set to star opposite her real-life husband Chris Hemsworth in upcoming war drama flick Horse Soldiers.

And Elsa Pataky, 40, has gushed about the unique acting experience, telling OK! magazine that she didn't feel awkward when it came to filming bedroom scenes.

'We play husband and wife so it was like we weren't even playing. It was natural, it felt so comfortable,' she told the publication.

'Usually with those scenes it is awkward but it was easy': Elsa Pataky, 40, has gushed about acting opposite her husband Chris Hemsworth in Horse Soldiers, telling OK! magazine that she didn't feel awkward when it came to filming bedroom scenes

'We were in bed together and usually with those scenes it is awkward but it was easy.'

'It is a scene in bed, but not a sex scene... that would be too easy!' she quipped.

In December last year, Elsa took to Instagram with a behind-the-scenes snap of herself in bed with Chris as they filmed an intimate scene for the highly-anticipated film.

She captioned the snap, in part: 'Day two, Horse Soldiers shooting with my on and off screen love @chrishemsworth.'

Hose Soldiers was first announced in September, and will follow the the true story of CIA agents and a U.S. special forces team sent to Afghanistan in an attempt to dismantle the Taliban in the aftermath of 9/11.

Michael Shannon, Michael Peña and Austin Stowell will star alongside Elsa and Chris.

Happily ever after: Chris and Elsa began dating in 2010 before marrying later that year

In the past Elsa had appeared in the Fast And Furious series, while Chris is known for his role as Thor in the Marvel franchise.

Chris and Elsa share three children, daughter India, three and two-year-old twin boys Tristan and Sasha.

The family currently reside in a Byron Bay holiday home.
