Kaya Scodelario and Benjamin Walker put on a romantic display at Pirates of the Caribbean LA premiere... as she slams 'really weird' gender double standards in Hollywood

They welcomed the pitter-patter of tiny feet in December with the arrival of their first child.

Now, Kaya Scodelario, 25, and husband Benjamin Walker, 34, put parenting duties on the back burner as they enjoyed a romantic night out at the Los Angeles premiere of her new flick Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales on Thursday night.

The British beauty dazzled in a sweetheart neckline gown which hugged her enviable curves to perfection as she celebrated her new flick with her other half.

Looking endlessly into her man's eyes, she commanded attention in her old Hollywood inspired ensemble which featured a daring thigh-high slit.

Teasing at her honed pins, she highlighted her hourglass figure in the waist-cinching garment made of stunning velvet fabric while highlighting her narrow torso further with an eye-catching gold waist belt that featured colourful drop crystal detailing.

Equipped with vintage wave, she added inches to her petite frame, the actress sauntered down the carpet in a pair of platform sandals with her Burberry-clad beau.

While commanding attention on the sea green carpet, the actress - who came to prominence playing the elusive Effy Stonem in Skins - opened up to The Guardian's G2 magazine about her fears that she would have to kiss an older man in the film.

Show your soft side like Kaya in a velvet dress by Dolce & Gabbana

Not only does lucky Kaya Scodelario star alongside Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, now she gets to go to all the premieres in glamorous gowns too!

Here she is at the LA premiere rocking a dreamy velvet gown, which is by Dolce & Gabbana. We love the strapless sweetheart neckline, gem embellishment on the belt and the thigh high split, but of course it's really all about the vampy velvet fabric!

It's been a huge trend (again!) for a while now, but since this is the third velvet number we've spotted on the red carpet this week (see Susan Sarandon and Natalie Portman for more inspiration!), it's clearly set to stick around.

This D&G gown isn't available to buy, but click (right) to shop the current collection at Net-a-Porter. Or get the designer look on a high street budget with the help of our edit below. Kaya teamed hers with Jimmy Choo shoes and Cartier jewellery, but why not add swept-up hair and barely there heels to let the dress to all the talking?

Now a part of one of the biggest film franchises, she was interestingly the only woman part of an otherwise all male casts of men in their 40s upwards when shooting the movie in 2015.

Although admitting she has come to terms with double -standards, she insisted she still gets annoyed by the gender politics in Hollywood.

She explained: 'It does. It's like there's this expiry date for us and it's such b******t, because my mind isn't going to change. If anything I will grow and I will learn and I will be better.'

'I was concerned that they would want me to play a romantic part against someone in their 50s and that would be heartbreaking,' she said. 'So I was extremely relieved that Brenton [Thwaites] is only a year older than me.'

'But, yeah, nine times out of 10 times, if I read a script, it will be with a man that is twice my age, which is really f***ing weird'.

Back in December, The Maze Runner star had taken to Instagram to share the happy news that she and husband Benjamin had welcomed a son into the world.

Benjamin and Kaya met on the set of The Moon and The Sun and got engaged in December 2014 after just a few months of dating.

The pair married the following year, before announcing they were expecting in June 2016 with a sweet social media snap of Ben cradling her blossoming bump.

Meanwhile, Kaya will appear in the film as Depp's sidekick - just as Keira Knightley, 32, did back in 2003.

Keira meanwhile confirmed she will be reprising her role as Elizabeth Swann, for the first time in ten years, in the new film by appearing in its international trailer.

In a very brief appearance, the actress is seen staring wistfully at the ocean as her character Elizabeth in the trailer - clad in a typical period floral gown and a smattering of jewellery.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge is in cinemas on May 26.
