And Jennifer Lawrence seemed to have quickly settled down to her usual routine again on Wednesday, strolling around New York with her beloved pet pooch several hours after the footage came out.

The actress, 26, wandered around SoHo with a male companion, wearing an elegant, cream summer dress that showed off her beautifully toned arms.

The Oscar-winner was quick to respond after a video surfaced that day, showing her writhing around on the dance floor of strip joint, Beverly Hills Club.

Taking to Facebook just hours after the footage - filmed last month - was published, Lawrence had a perfectly sassy response.

'Look, nobody wants to be reminded that they tried to dance on a stripper pole by the internet.

Reports suggested the Hunger Games star was dancing in just her bra but light-hearted J-Law quickly shot the speculation down.

'Ps that's not a bra it's an Alexander Wang top and I'm not gonna lie, I think my dancing's pretty good. Even with no core strength,' she quipped.

In the footage obtained by Radar Online, the actress is seen crawling around on all fours in a tight skirt and waistcoat.

In a later clip Lawrence whipped off her top to reveal what she now confirms to be a black designer bralet as she attempts a sexy pole dance but ends up slipping down it as Rihanna's Love On The Brain plays.

At that point one of her pals helps her back to her feet and she returns to her friends' table and collapses into the group, having successfully entertained them.

Radar reports that Lawrence and her group ordered Beluga vodka and were knocking back drinks all night.

According to an eyewitness the Joy star arrived around 11 pm and partied until 4am.

Her 48-year-old boyfriend, producer-director Darren Aronofsky was not with her for the wild night.

It's no surprise that Lawrence is wary about privacy as the actress was one of the victims of a massive celebrity photo hack in 2014 when private snaps meant for her boyfriend at the time Nicholas Hoult leaked online.

'Just because I'm a public figure, just because I'm an actress, does not mean that I asked for this. It does not mean that it comes with the territory,' The actress told Vanity Fair at the time.

'It's my body, and it should be my choice, and the fact that it is not my choice is absolutely disgusting. I can't believe that we even live in that kind of world.'
