Saturday Night Live's season finale on Saturday will have the sketch comedy show saying goodbye to one its most senior and most popular cast members.

Bobby Moynihan, 40, will leave NBC's SNL after nine seasons after it was reported Friday that his comedy pilot got picked up to series and will air on CBS in the fall, according to Deadline Hollywood.

Moynihan's new show is a single-camera comedy called Me, Myself and I, which takes a look at one man's life, dissected into three periods: at age 14 in 1991, at age 40 in present day and at age 65 in 2042. 

During his time on SNL, Moynihan has played many memorable characters. 

He was well known for portraying the likes of Chris Christie, Guy Fieri, Snooki, Weekend Update staple Drunk Uncle and journalist Glenn Thrush, as of late. 

SNL, which has been on the air since 1975, will end its 42nd season, and its last with Moynihan, on Saturday with host Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and musical guest Katy Perry.

Kapital Entertainment in association with Warner Bros Television is the studio bringing Moynihan's new project to the small screen.

He'll be joined on Me, Myself and I by executive producers Aaron Kaplan, Dana Honor and Dan Kopelman, the latter of which is also a writer on the show. 

Randall Einhorn was an executive producer and director on the pilot episode only. 

Moynihan will relocate from New York to Los Angeles, where the sitcom will be filmed.

The comedian will also voice the title character in the recently picked up Syfy animated series, Happy!

Moynihan's recent film credits include 2015's Inside Out and Ted 2, and 2016's The Secrete Life of Pets.

In 2017, he'll appear in The Book of Henry and Why We're Killing Gunther, as well as lend his voice to the character of The Mayor in The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature.
