You seem to say that our people will be missing essential information if the news briefings are altered... personally, I think it has been rather unsuccessful in the past eight years in spectacular ways. I would not find it a stretch to believe that the reporters were handpicked and that even the questions were often reviewed before the conference. Pablum soft and misdirection. Interesting bringing up possibly not televising the White House news briefings. Might make a very good segment for your show to bring in folks who were there when it wasn't to compare and contrast. I personally think it's devolved into who can get a viral sound bite and/or ask the catch gotcha question and doesn't serve the public well. There's a reason SCOTUS won't ever let cameras in.
