Epsom ramp up security for Derby in the aftermath of Manchester terror attack

Security at the Investec Derby will be at unprecedented levels on Saturday week with Epsom officials promising a further review in the aftermath of the Manchester terrorist atrocity. The Queen will be among 100,000 spectators expected to attend the biggest Flat race of the year, many spread across the Downs in the centre of the course. Phil White, responsible for running Jockey Club-owned Epsom, said: ‘People’s safety and security is our No 1 priority. We have been working with Surrey police to ensure we have robust and appropriate measures in place.’
