A hilarious video has been released of the moment a very eager bridesmaid caught the bouquet at a wedding for the first time - and her mortified boyfriend's priceless reaction.

Katie Timmins, from Northampton, was at a friend's wedding on Sunday when the bridal party assembled for the traditional bouquet toss.

When the 24-year-old caught the wedding flowers, her stunned boyfriend Sam McGuire can be seen with his face buried in his hands. 

Ms Timmins, who works in IT, told MailOnline: 'We were at a wedding at Highgate House for a friend of mine from primary school.

'I wasn't deliberately trying to catch it but it was thrown straight at me!'

She added: 'My boyfriend didn't say much after that but was just left with his head in his hands.

'All my family found the episode highly amusing and they were laughing hysterically.'

Ms Timmins, who has been with her 25-year-old partner for three years, says she doesn't have any plans for marriage at the moment.

She said: 'Everyone keeps asking when the wedding is going to be but we still don't talk about it.'

The funny clip has been viewed thousands of times since being uploaded to social media.

One of Katie's friend's joked: 'Can't wait for the next McGuire wedding.'

Another said: 'Love it! Do you need a florist?'
