Cecil was rescued from the edge of a cliff at the bottom of a quarry at Heybridge in Tasmania earlier this month.

He was stuck there for a week without food and water because he was too heavy to climb back up.

Shearer Susan Gunter spent an hour and a half on Cecil- 10 times longer than it would take an average six kilogram fleece.

'Maybe he figured out the game was up and this might help him a lot,' she said.

'The quality of the wool, it's beautiful. It's a lovely, lovely fleece really.'

The RSPCA is now looking for a permanent home for Cecil.
