Rebel Wilson wins defamation case against Woman’s Day

Australian actress Rebel Wilson has won her high-profile court battle against the publisher of Woman's Day and Australian Women's Weekly, Bauer Media. An all-female six-person jury deliberated for two days over their verdict, in which they were asked to consider 40 questions and eight potentially defamatory magazine articles, before handing down their decision on Thursday. The 37-year-old Pitch Perfect star was defamed by the publisher when they accused her of lying about her real name, age and childhood, with the dollar figure she will be granted in damages to be decided by Justice John Dixon. 'The response of this organisation has been to maliciously bring me down,' Wilson said Thursday following the ruling. 'The main thing for me was to set the record straight. It was never about damages, it was about telling the truth.'

Fears more than ONE HUNDRED have died in Grenfell Tower

Nobody left in the London tower block which burned down on Tuesday night is still alive, fire crews have said. Rescuers say there are still 'unknown numbers' of people dead inside, but at the moment it is too risky to try to recover them from the upper floors of the fire-ravaged and unstable Grenfell Tower (pictured). London fire chief Dany Cotton said: 'Tragically now we are not expecting to find anyone else alive. The severity and the heat of the fire would mean it is an absolute miracle for anyone to be left alive.' Full searches of the upper floors, where no one is said to have survived, are yet to be carried out as families and residents search for relatives and friends. Dozens, possibly hundreds, of people are now feared dead. Seventy eight people were taken to hospital, with 18 fighting for lives in critical condition, after around 600 residents desperately tried to escape the flames.
