The sneak peak of the film begins with a dramatic explosion, with astronomer Sir Edmund Burton - played by Sir Anthony - announcing: 'We've got guests'.

With humans and transformers at war, he hints at a secret to be uncovered in the movie, saying to Cade: 'You keep a secret for so long, knowing it to be true, yet deep down inside you begin to wonder, has my life been wasted?

He continues: 'You want to know don't you dude? Why they keep coming here, to earth?'

It will see Cade team up with Bumblebee, Sir Edmund and Vivian in order to discover why the Transformers keep returning to Earth.

Along with Mark and Sir Anthony, the cast also stars Stanley Tucci and Jerrod Carmichael.

A trailer for the movie was released earlier this month, showing Cade constantly in the line of fire.

'They have been here forever, hidden in the shadows,' Anthony Hopkins, who plays Sir Edmund Burton in the film, says in a voice-over. 'To protect Earth from what was destined to arrive ... the final battle is upon us.'

There's a moment of comic relief amid the chaos, as teen Izabella, played by actress Isabela Moner, tells Yeager she wants to stay and fight the Transformers.

He replies, 'Think you're a bad-a**? Little J.Lo!'

Discussing the film, Mark told Collider in December, said that explosions were 'pretty common' on the Detroit set of the action film.

He said of the filming process: 'For a lot of explosions and stuff like that, you’re harnessed to something getting swung in the air or dragged onto something or thrown onto something.'

The Boogie Nights star said the film's writers 'came up with a new cool thing' in terms of the film's storyline.

'I was excited because it doesn’t really make sense unless you can do something different,' he said, adding, 'It’s all kind of been done before.'

The film is set to be released on June 22.
