Is Scott Cam facing over-exposure on Nine

It was a brave move to recruit House Rules contestants to take part on The Block spin-off Reno Rumble - but possibly braver to ask Scott Cam to front the show.

Cam's already committed to two seasons of The Block in 2015 and Reno Rumble will be his third renovation show inside a year.

There's a real possibility viewers may fatigue of Cam by the time this year comes to a close.

The Gold Logie winner has been on air since January as the presenter of the Nine Network's The Block Triple Threat.

He'll front up for another instalment of The Block in the second half of the year and sandwiched in-between will a six week season of Reno Rumble which starts soon on Nine.

In all, Cam will be on air for around seven months this year alone and Reno Rumble may be one show too many for the happy-go-lucky handy man.

Reno Rumble co-creator Julian Cress, who along with David Barbour dreamed-up the Nine money-spinner The Block, thinks Cam was the logical choice for the series.

"The guys is the current Gold Logie winner, we love the guy," Cress told AAP.

"He's the best host of TV in Australia and people believe what he is saying, you can't get better than Scott Cam."

Cam may not have been a gamble in Cress's opinion, but asking the House Rules contestants to come aboard was.

Reno Rumble involves two groups of eight, comprising of contestants from The Block and the first season of the Seven Network series House Rules, renovating homes in the same street.

There are four duos in each group of eight and after each house is completed, one team of two is sent home.

Cress said the former contestants of House Rules were out of contract and were keen to be a part of Reno Rumble which is a fast-paced renovation series.

"Everything is a gamble in television," Cress said.

"It was a cheeky idea and it was a concept that may or may not have been able to fly, but they were free agents and so when we asked they all said yes, it made the decision a a lot easier.

"The response so far from the audience has been `what a great idea'
