The pair were spotted out to dinner on Friday night in Amagansett and then out again the following morning as they went to grab coffee with a friend.

Chelsea, 37, was taking a break after promoting her bestselling book 'She Persisted' for the past month.

Her husband, 39, does not currently have a job, so was taking a break from his days of taking a break in New York City.

Chelsea kept off social media during her trip out to the exclusive and ritzy Long Island hamlet, but got right back to work upon her return by firing back at President Donald Trump for a tweet her wrote about the former First Daughter.

President Trump responded to the backlash over his decision to send daughter Ivanka to a G20 summit meeting in his place last week by bringing up Chelsea and her famous mother Hillary.

'If Chelsea Clinton were asked to hold the seat for her mother,as her mother gave our country away, the Fake News would say CHELSEA FOR PRES!' wrote President Trump on Twitter Monday morning.

Chelsea quickly responded to the commander-in-chief, writing: 'Good morning Mr. President. It would never have occurred to my mother or my father to ask me. Were you giving our country away? Hoping not.'

She also tweeted out on Sunday: 'Does anyone else think President Trump might benefit from reading Aesop's Fables? The Cat, The Rooster & The Mouse? The Eagle and The Arrow?'

A few hours after Ivanka filled in for her father at the G20, Chelsea was spotted out on her coffee run, wearing a long tie-dye dress and orange baseball cap from the 2012 US Open.

Marc meanwhile wore a pair of billowing seersucker shorts that extended past his knees with a gray shirt.

The pair were joined by a friend who kept covered up in sweatpants and a sweat shirt, along with over-sized black sunglasses.

Photos show the two appearing to be a bit lost after their coffee run, with both husband and wife having to stop and try to figure out where they are going once back on the street.

Chelsea and Marc also enjoyed  night out free of their two children on Friday, grabbing dinner in the same Hamptons town.

The Clinton often rent beach houses in Amagansett, with Hillary and Bill most recently getting one back in 2015 a few months after she announced her candidacy for president.

That summer they rented a four-bedroom home from Republican donor and art collector Andre Nasser and his real estate guru wife, Lois - for the secxond staright year.

It cost $50,000 a week.

The Clintons have not rented a house together since that time, though Hillary was out plenty of times for fundraisers during her campaign.

Chelsea has been having some of the best professional weeks of her life thanks to the success of her new children's book 'She Persisted,' which has remained the bestselling children's book on Amazon since its release in May.

And in a battle of the first daughters, her book also appears to be on track to outsell Ivanka Trump's recently released 'Women Who Work.'

The collection of stories was inspired by Elizabeth Warren according to a release sent out by publisher Penguin Young Readers, and as evidenced by Chelsea's decision to use the Massachusetts senator's rally cry for the title of the book.

Chelsea will be the first to cash in on the popular catchphrase, with a spokesperson for Penguin offering no comment when asked by DailyMail.com if any of the proceeds from the book will be going to charity.

Among the 13 women making an appearance in the children's picture book will be Harriet Tubman, Helen Keller, Sally Ride, Florence Griffith Joyner, Oprah Winfrey and Sonia Sotomayor.

Less familiar names including Clara Lemlich, Nellie Bly, Maria Tallchief, Claudette Colvin, Ruby Bridges, and Margaret Chase Smith are also featured in the collection.

'I wrote this book for everyone who’s ever wanted to speak up but has been told to quiet down - for everyone who’s ever been made to feel less than,' said Chelsea of her first foray into the world of children's literature.

'The thirteen women in She Persisted all overcame adversity to help shape our country - sometimes through speaking out, sometimes by staying seated, sometimes by captivating an audience.'

She then added: 'With this book, I want to send a message to young readers around the country - and the world - that persistence is power.'

The book is Chelsea's third, having previously written a social empowerment book for middle-school children in 2015 entitled 'It's Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going!' and then just this past January releasing her worldwide health tome 'Governing Global Health: Who Runs the World and Why?'

The latter proved to be a dismal failure for Chelsea, who never even bothered to promote the book in the wake of her mother Hillary's defeat in last year's election.

That might explain why the book performed so poorly, and just two months after its release is number 128,444 on the Amazon bestsellers list.

Chelsea's official author bio states that in addition to her write she is 'Vice Chair of the Clinton Foundation, where she works on many initiatives including those that help to empower the next generation of leaders.'

The money she will likely be pulling in for her latest book should provide plenty of comfort for the family of four, who have been relying on just one breadwinner for months.

It was revealed back in February that Marc had quietly shut down his hedge fund Eaglevale Partners at the end of last year.

He and his partners were reportedly working to return money to investors at that time, including Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd C. Blankfein.

The decision to shutter the fund came just a few weeks after Mezvinsky's mother-in-law Hillary lost the election to Donald Trump.

Mezvinsky has kept a low profile ever since Hillary's loss in the election, with most sightings of the Ivy League graduate occurring when he is out with daughter Charlotte.
