Tensions are high as the stars of Married at First Sight are gearing up to decide whether they want to stay wed to their respective spouses, and one participant finds himself gets into an explosive relationship with his wife just a week before decision day.

In a preview clip for Thursday night's episode of the Lifetime reality series, it's clear that Anthony D'Amico, 30, and his wife Ashley Petta, 30, are no longer in the honeymoon phase as they snap at each other over everything from filling out an application to ordering takeout.

Ashley kicks off the fight by scolding Anthony for not filling out an application the moment he got it, explaining: 'I'm just trying to understand why you put things off.'

Anthony defends himself by saying he had it in his head that he was going to fill out the application today, noting that he didn't realize he 'had to get it done by a certain time'.

'Holy cow. I did not realize it was a dire thing to do right now,' he gripes to the camera.

Ashley hits back by arguing that it would have been better for him to be the first one to apply rather than waiting longer and having 'less of a chance of getting it'.

Although it's not clear what Anthony is applying for, it is presumably a job or a new rental for them to live in as newlyweds.

Anthony points out that he didn't have any control over when he was given the application, but Ashley says she doesn't even remember what happened when he received it the day before because he was 'annoying' her.

Ashley tells him she doesn't want to talk about it anymore before storming into their room, which frustrates her husband to no end.

'I'm very annoyed and frustrated about what's going on,' he says of his wife's passive aggressive ways of dealing with things. 'When you do try to talk about stuff, it goes bad, because she doesn't want to talk about it.

'She shuts down and she runs in the room. What does that do for me? That does nothing. 'She tells me that I don't communicate but what was that?' he asks.

All over the place: Anthony is already frustrated by her lack of communication skills, and he gets even more annoyed when she suddenly asks him to look at a menu to order food

'If you're going to run in your room and hide, how am I going to communicate with you?'

Oddly enough, Ashley thinks this is a good time to order food, and she is lying in bed when she yells to Anthony to see if he wants Anthony, who is clearly confused by her sudden change in demeanor.

'So you're talking to me?' he asks, and when Ashley goes on to question if he wants to look at the menu because she is ordering it right that minute, he explodes.

'Yeah, I do, but what would you like me to do right now?' he yells, noting that just a few minutes ago she wanted him to focus on the application, and now she wants him to look at a menu.

Fed up: Ashley tells the camera that she has no problem getting into a fight with her husband, but she notes that he has no right to shout at her like that

Ashley is taken aback by his response and says she is just going to order for herself.

'It's a week before decision day, and this is definitely the most heated I've ever been with her for sure,' Anthony says of the fight.

'I mean I get agitated when someone tells me something needs to get done now and then, "Oh, you want to come look at this menu?" Now you're messing with me.'

Meanwhile, Ashley gets out of bed to slam the door, and she can be heard muttering 'like what the f**k'.

'You can't talk to me that way. We can argue; that's fine, but don't scream at me like that,' she tells the camera of Anthony's behavior.

And they aren't the only couple struggling before decision day.

Cody Knapek, 26, and his wife Danielle DeGroot, 30, still haven't consummated their marriage, and his insistence on constantly bringing up the fact that they haven't had sex isn't exactly putting her in the mood.

'We're going to get to that eight-week mark and have a big decision to make, so something has to change,' Cody says.

He eventually tells Danielle that he thinks he has stronger feelings for her than she has for him.

'If that's where we're at, I don't know where to go from here,' she tells the camera.
