An aspiring 15-year-old soccer player has been killed in a horrific car crash with a drunk driver.
Eliza Farrell, of Forsyth County, was riding in an Acura with three other people when it collided with a 2011 Dodge Ram truck being driven by Brayden Lewis Clark.
Brayden Lewis Clark, 21, of Loganville, now faces charges of homicide by vehicle and driving under the influence over the incident near the Lumpkin Campground in Dawson County, Georgia.
Xavier Sanchez, 16, who was driving the Acura, and passengers Kevin Arias, 16, and Rachel Rajczak, 15, all sustained non-life threatening injuries, AJC reported.
Lambert High School student Eliza, a junior member of the varsity soccer team, was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics pulled her from the car.
Clark is reported to have run a stop sign 9.30pm on July 4 and struck the Acura at an intersection, according to a police report.
He was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville where results for blood tests are pending.
In addition to the homicide by vehicle and DUI charges, Clark faces charges of reckless driving and failure to stop at a stop sign.
School Principal Gary Davison described Eliza as 'a wonderful young lady who exemplified the best that Lambert strives for'
He went on: 'She was kind, well-liked, hard-working. Her legacy will remain at Lambert as long as those who knew her. We will all greatly miss her.'
