'Sexually fluid' Younger heartthrob Nico Tortorella shares intimate details about his polyamorous relationship with a gay woman, as he admits he'd give up 'everything' to carry a child

Nico Tortorella may play a straight man who is in love with a middle-aged woman on the hit show Younger, but in real life, the sexually fluid actor has been in a decade-long, polyamorous relationship with a woman who identifies as gay. 

The 28-year-old and his partner, fitness instructor Bethany Meyers, cover the latest issue of the Advocate, and inside the pages of the magazine, Nico candidly opens up about their modern, queer family. 

Nico revealed last year that he is sexually fluid and had his first sexual experience with another man when he was in high school, and while Bethany dates mostly women, she and the TV star have had an on-again, off-again relationship for the past 10 years.

Together, the two challenge the norms surrounding gender and sexuality, and Nico admitted during the interview that he 'would give it all up, everything in my life, to be able to carry a child myself'. 

The stunning cover sees Nico and Bethany wearing matching, ribbed sleeveless shirts as they pose with their bodies pressed together while gazing at the camera.

In addition to being described as sexually fluid, he has also been called bisexual, demisexual, and queer, and he has no problems with being labeled if it helps others find someone with whom they can identify.

'I think for so long there’s been like one quote-unquote normal way of life,' he said. 'And anybody that doesn’t live in that structure needs to find a home of sorts.

'And I think labels are really important for kids, especially, [who] can’t find their tribe where they are, and need to go find their people, their family. For that reason, I think labels are extremely important.' 

On the TV Land show Younger, Nico's character Josh is in an on-again, off-again relationship with Liza, played by Sutton Foster, and his modern views on love and sex haven't affected his heartthrob status in the least. 

Last month, he told the New York Post that he falls 'somewhere under the bisexual umbrella', noting: 'I am a white, cisgender-passing bisexual man, and I realize that not everyone has that privilege.'

Although he said it is possible that his sexual fluidity may one day affect his career, he refuses to change who he is.

'I don’t think there have been positive bisexual role models in the world — especially in Hollywood,' he said. 

'If you have a story that’s different than what you’re seeing out there, just get it out there.' 

Nico, who has been sober for the past two-and-a-half years, also talks about sex and relationships on his podcast 'The Love Bomb'. 

The star is equally candid about his life and sobriety on his Instagram page, where he often shares hunky photos of himself flaunting his ripped body. 

Last summer, he used the  social media platform to debut his alter-ego drag queen, Almond Milk, as a new member of The Dairy Queens, a NYC-based drag family that consists of Milk, Ühu Betch, Skim Burley, Linda Lakes and Juggz.

And he proudly posted his latest magazine cover, writing: 'the many ways LGBTQIA people are creating families everyday. visibility. fluidity. unity. tribe. pride. pack of lions.' 

Posting a video of himself posing with Bethany on the shoot, he noted that he is 'blessed to be her witness'.

Bethany also shared the cover shot on her Instagram page, joking that she isn't even wearing fitness gear. 

'Got my first magazine cover and I'm not even wearing spandex. I know, I'm as shocked as you are,' she captioned the image.
