SEBASTIAN SHAKESPEARE: Kara Tointon's heart gets a lift from her dashing new doctor beau

When Mr Selfridge star Kara Tointon won Strictly Come Dancing in 2010, it wasn’t just the BBC’s glitterball trophy she took home.

The accountant’s daughter captured the heart of her dance partner, Artem Chigvintsev, and waltzed into a three-year romance.

Kara, 33, was ‘heartbroken’ when their relationship ended, but, I can reveal, she has found love again, with a dashing blond physician called Dr Marius Jensen.

Kara introduced me to him at Robinson’s VIP suite at Wimbledon on Saturday. ‘He’s not an actor, he’s a chiropractor,’ she said, adding mysteriously: ‘That’s sort of how we met...’

Dr Jensen, also 33, was born in Norway, but runs his own practice in West London’s Notting Hill, where he treats famous athletes, musicians and actors. He recently devised the ‘Jensen Method’, which delivers bespoke exercise regimes and diets.

He can be seen incorporating Kara into his regime on social media, where he is pictured balancing the 5ft 4in actress on his shoulders while she manages to hold on to her mobile.

Essex-born Kara has been introducing Dr Jensen to her close friends and successfully navigated a potentially awkward encounter at Wimbledon when she bumped into her ex, EastEnders actor Joe Swash.

Kara, whose career began on the soap opera, politely kissed Swash on the cheek before introducing him to her new lover, with whom he shook hands.

The actress hinted in 2015 that BBC producers contrived her relationship with Russian hoofer Artem, 35, by placing the two unattached stars together.

‘I was determined we wouldn’t get together,’ said Kara. ‘Then you’re spending so much time with this person and he was so wonderful... so yes, it was inevitable.’

Ferry's ex weds man her own age

Bryan Ferry's former wife, glamorous PR Amanda Sheppard, has married again — and this time to a man almost her own age.

Amanda, 34, who divorced the Roxy Music singer in 2014 after he told her he did not want to have children with a woman 38 years his junior, tied the knot in Oxfordshire on Saturday with fund manager Duncan Westbrook, 38 (right).

Pointedly, Amanda described it as the ‘best day’ of her life, adding: ‘So happy to be Mrs Westbrook.’

Her new husband was best man at the wedding of Camilla Parker Bowles’s daughter, Laura, and Harry Lopes in 2006, and is friends with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.

Why is Ivanka in the hot seat, demands Miriam?

Combover king Donald Trump’s decision to lend daughter Ivanka his seat next to Theresa May at a G20 session has enraged ex-Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg’s wife, Miriam.

‘Here you have a case of discrimination against men,’ the Spanish lawyer fumes online.

‘If the unelected son of a U.S. President had taken the place of his father at the G20 leaders’ table, there would be, rightly, international uproar. If it is his expensively dressed daughter who sits in for him, some media focuses not on how outrageous that is, but on her dress.

‘Shocking to see other leaders, including May and [Germany’s Angela] Merkel, acting as if it was normal that she was sitting there...’

I wonder if the poor Lib Dems would have fared better if fiery Miriam had taken Clegg’s place?

  • The father who grounded his 18-year-old daughter for going out on the town with Wimbledon bad boy Nick Kyrgios, 22, is challenging the Australian to a boxing match. Rising British tennis hopeful Chelsea Samways emerged from a Soho nightclub with Kyrgios at 3am. ‘I’ve knocked out bigger guys than him and he needs teaching a lesson,’ her dad, Lawrence, 51, a heating engineer, tells me. ‘I used to be an amateur boxer and bare-knuckle fighter. In three months I could be fit enough to take him on, but it’d be nice to do it for charity.’

  • Joanna Lumley took steps to preserve her modesty while filming on a mirrored floor for a forthcoming ITV1 show about her birthplace, India. ‘Here is a little ante chamber with a mirrored floor —naughty old people could glance down here and see up your pants,’ she says while visiting the swish Hotel Udai Bilas Palace in Rajasthan. ‘Luckily, I have got trousers on today.’ How wise.

Little chef dons his 'n' hers outfit

Some right-on parents are raising their children as ‘gender neutral’ to avoid stereotyping, but chirpy chef Jamie Oliver and wife, Jools, just like reusing old baby clothes.

Jools shared a photograph this weekend of their nine-month-old son, River Rocket, wearing a yellow girl’s outfit with puffed sleeves and embroidered flowers.

‘This little romper was once mine and my sisters’ — almost 46 years old,’ revealed mother of five, Jools, 42. ‘Just need to tighten the elastic on the little legs and hopefully it will be passed down to our grandchildren.’
