  • Rob, 29, was held aloft in his wheelchair as he crowd-surfed through the concert
  • Coldplay frontman Chris Martin then invited Rob onstage at the gig in Dublin
  • They improvised a new song together and Rob accompanied on harmonica
  • They performed to a sold-out crowd on the Head Full of Dreams tour's Irish stop

A wheelchair was no impediment to one music fan who crowd-surfed to the top of a packed stadium at a Coldplay gig and got invited onto the stage with the band.

Rob, 29, was held aloft in his wheelchair and transported up towards the stage by delighted concert goers at the sold-out gig in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday night.

When Coldplay frontman Chris Martin saw Rob he invited him onto the stage, quickly moving speakers out of the way and pulling Rob’s wheelchair onstage while the crowd pushes.

The crowd cheered in delight when Rob and the superstar singer hug and chat.

Chris then introduces the personal trainer to the enormous crowd before the pair improvise a new song about Dublin.

‘We’re going to write this song together, see what this song says about you, about Dublin, about Ireland,' Chris says to the sold-out crowd on the Irish stop of their Head Full of Dreams tour in Croke Park.

Rob then pulls out a harmonica and plays along while Chris sings.

‘Well here we are in Dublin, me and my friend Rob, he is 29-years-old and training is his job,' Chris sings for the first verse of the new song.

‘Well here we are in Dublin and what an awesome crowd, I’ve been all over the world and I’ve never seen anybody so loud,' he continues for the second verse.

‘Well we’ve been around the whole world, Japan and the USA, but Dublin, Dublin Ireland is where I want to play,’ Chris sings as Rob finishes each cadence with some notes on his harmonica.

The crowd erupts in delight once more at this unusual deviation from the regular gig experience.
