'Being famous is really hard work': Lauren Goodger reveals plans to step out of the spotlight following explosive feud with Mark Wright

She's been at the centre of several high profile scandals - most recently accusing her ex Mark Wright of having her 'kicked out' of Essex hotspot Sheesh.

Now, seven years after she soared to fame with her stint in TOWIE, Lauren Goodger has revealed she wants to quit being in the public eye.

Describing life as a celebrity as 'really hard work', the 30-year-old reality star made the confession with an Instagram selfie on Wednesday.

Alongside a busty snap of herself pouting down the lens, she wrote: 'I've been thinking I want to make a career change.

'The future belongs to those that believe in the beauty of their dreams. I'm ready to live mine. Fresh start in things that can hold my passion.'

She added to The Sun Online: 'It’s really hard work. The reason I’ve not done any work in the public eye recently and why I don’t go to any events anymore is because I’m losing the passion for it.

'I hide away because I don’t feel confident enough because things like this can happen and it’s not right.'

Referring to Sheesh-gate, she added: 'This was the icing on the cake. Now I’m just moving on and I want to better myself.'

Lauren's comments were in response to her claims that her ex-fiance Mark had her removed from Sheesh restaurant so he could dine there.

She first made the allegations on Twitter, last week, writing: 'Wow literally can't not explain what just happened to me ... BIG MISTAKE [sic].'

Replying to someone's concerned response to this cryptic tweet, Lauren posted: 'I will be [okay] cos I'm not letting this one go this time! Wrongen! [sic]'
