She's been holidaying on the Amalfi Coast in southern Italy.

And despite sharing a constant stream of snaps and Insta-stories to her social media followers while she's been away, Katy Perry felt she should remind everyone once again that she 'is on vacation'.

The American singer, 32, threw on a white bikini, a matching sun hat and a pair of shades as she worked her best dance moves on a decadent-looking sun-drenched yacht.

With temperatures soaring, Katy, who is taking a well-earned break following back to back promotional commitments on behalf of new album Witness, appeared to be in high spirits as she swayed her hips and dipped to the music.

The video also featured shots of the local surrounds, including a close-up of a lit up crucifix in a rustic-looking church, a lady tossing fruit in the air and catching it again, and some local revelers enjoying the Mediterranean weather.

Katy's holiday comes as the pop princess, who sings about being 'spread like a buffet' in her latest single Bon Appétit, opened up about how her parents handle the sexually suggestive lyrics in her music.

The acclaimed pop star was asked how her devoutly Christian parents, Keith and Mary Hudson, reacted to the dance track during a candid chat on Australian radio station Nova in June.

'... The thing about it is, which is such a weird thing, to really understand we agree to disagree but still with loving space,' she said.

'We all come from different places... you can have your belief system, nobody is telling you to not believe your beliefs but you can also come from a space of love... that's what my family and I exercise all the time.'

The singer released her new album on June 9 and is already embarking on a worldwide tour to promote her music.
