Supreme disappointment! Louis Vuitton suddenly cancels highly anticipated Supreme collab without explanation, leaving fans outraged

  • The Supreme x Louis Vuitton collection will no longer be sold in stores or online
  • The line was first seen in January at the brand's fall/winter 2017 show in Paris
  • A letter confirming the cancellation was sent to Hypebeast by Louis Vuitton's client services department
  • The cancellation comes after more pop-ups were announced just last week
  •  Manhattan's Community Board denied a pop-up shop in May fearing loud crowds and public urination, among other things
  • Louis Vuitton has not commented

Louis Vuitton has announced that the Supreme x Louis Vuitton collection will 'no longer be sold in any stores or online.'

The announcement comes as a big surprise to those who have been anticipating the launch since first laying eyes on it at the Supreme x Louis Vuitton fall/winter 2017 in Paris, France, last January.

And it was only last week that Louis Vuitton confirmed that more pop-ups were coming to North America (one set for this Friday at Louis Vuitton's SoHo location in New York), after the success the line had in metropolitan cities like London, Sydney, Beijing, Paris, Seoul and Tokyo.

The designer label's client services confirmed in an email to Hypebeast yesterday that the collaboration's goods will no longer be for sale in any of their stores or online.

Perhaps we should have seen the writing on the wall when the 25 Bond Street pop-up (planned for end of June) was suddenly and unanimously denied by Manhattan’s Community Board No. 2, back in May.

The 32 members of the board all voted that, 'CB2 Manhattan STRONGLY recommends DENIAL of the Louis Vuitton/Supreme (Product) Launch, Bond St. between Lafayette St. and Bowery to be held from 6/29/17-7/2/17.'

Strong disapproval was voiced by residents at the meeting. Concerns included customers sleeping on the sidewalk, public urination, disorganized lines, and lack of a plan to allow residents access to their homes.

The news came as a great shock and disappointment to those who camped out in front of the store - in a line that wrapped around the block - for days.

DailyMail.com has reached out to Louis Vuitton for comment. Thus far the Parisian label has kept quiet about the sudden cancellation.

Here's a look at the cool goods you will no longer be able to get your hands on. Sigh.
