She enjoyed a 20 minute romp with Alex Beattie on Love Island and Montana Brown's mother, Sarah Brown, isn't too happy about it.

In an interview with The Sun on Thursday, she said that she believed her behaviour was down to the pressurised nature of the villa and claims they are 'directed.'

The 51-year-old told the paper: 'A mum doesn't really want to be involved in that side of her daughter's life so I would rather not have seen that.

'She has a lot of integrity and high standards. Usually Montana is laid back when she meets somebody and will take her time and obviously she hasn't.'

Montana, 21, and 22-year-old Alex's romp delighted fans after Montana failed to find a connection with anyone during the first few weeks on the show.

Despite Sarah's concerns, she says that she still remains proud of her daughter, although no doubt she will have some choice words for her when they reunite.

Smug: Telling the girls she had slept with the strong and silent chap, she cheekily announced, ‘Mon-money got some last night.

She said: 'She knows who she is. I have absolute faith in her. I love her and like her as a person.'

A spokesperson for Love Island told MailOnline: 'We follow the islanders' relationships, we do not direct them.'

Meanwhile, Alex melted hearts on Wednesday's episode of Love Island when he asked Montana to be his girlfriend.

Clearly taken by his stunning female companion, the personal trainer revealed the true extent of his feelings before proceeding to ask her: 'Will you be my girlfriend?'

He said: 'I feel like I don’t know how to put our relationship into words. It’s a new experience to have someone in my life that I can get along with so easily.

'I feel like we’ve connected really well,' he continued before Montana admitted: ' I've surprised myself because I was so anxious about my feelings. But I like you more every. I have feelings already, it’s annoying.

Getting more brave, Alex confessed: Let's see how far we go. How about we start now?' to which Montana responded: 'What do you mean?'

'Will you be my girlfriend?' Alex bravely adding as she happily took up his offer and the twosome passionately locked lips.
