So it's only natural Kirsty Gallacher has become a dedicated fitness advocate, opening up about her rigorous workout routine in a new interview.

The TV presenter, 41, admitted that she feels in the best shape of her life, and is keen to give sons Oscar, 10, and Jude, seven a healthy role model.

Posing on the cover of Fit and Well,  Kirsty showed off her shapely pins in a red zip-up bodysuit, teasing a glimpse of her decolletage in a netted crop top.

Revealing that she's never felt so confident, the Sky Sports New presenter admitted her body shape has changed since she started training with former rugby pro Mel Deane,a year ago.

And proving her point, her next oufit change was a sizzling shorts and crop top combo, highlighting her toned stomach.

’His results are brilliant,' she told the publication. 'But it’s tough training – you have to know that you are going to work hard,' she said, admitting she feels more confident in her figure I her forties than she did in her twenties.

The mum-of-two is a big fan of the strong not skinny ethos, explaining: ‘I think it’s a great look – it’s the opposite to size zero,’ adding ‘I’m a mum, and I think it’s important for my boys to watch a woman train hard.'

'I like strong women – I like the idea that we can do that,’ she added, sharing that she has gone from a size 6-8 to an 8 thanks to her improved muscle tone.

Kirsty, who is bringing out her own fitness gear range with Proskins, is a huge fan of the mental benefits of working out too. ‘I always feel really good after training. It’s like I bounce out of the gym. You should always try to remember how you feel afterwards.’ she advises anyone who puts off exercising.

The mother-of-two ended her four-year marriage to rugby union star Paul Sampson, 38, in 2014.

She previously admitted it was a dark time, but having got through it she's keen to have more children.

''You have to get up and go to work, and you worry about how they’re doing at school while you’re trying to do live TV. But you do learn, you develop and you do get stronger. You have to learn from your mistakes', she admitted. 

'I would like more children. There, I’ve said it now, but it’s true! If I’m lucky enough to have one more then I’d be thrilled, as I don’t feel like I have finished yet on the baby thing.
