'I felt sexualized': Miley Cyrus admits her raunchy phase backfired as she adds 'now everyone has their boobs and ass out'

Miley Cyrus showed off her body when she went through her Wrecking Ball phase after her mini split from Liam Hemsworth.

Often the former Disney princess would hit the stage in shocking outfits that flashed her breasts, stomach and bottom as she made crude gestures.

But the singer told the August issue of Harper's Bazaar - on sale July 25 - that those days are over for her because she started to feel 'sexualized.'

'In the beginning, it was kind of like saying, "F**k you. Girls should be able to have this freedom or whatever." But it got to a point where I did feel sexualized,' she explained.

'How can I f***ing be the role model I’m supposed to be? Yeah, I just said "f***ing role model." Who gives a s***? Because I got my tits out before doesn’t make me less of a role model,' she vented.

But she explained why she's since strayed from the tantalizing outfits.

'Even at the Met Gala, everyone had their boobs out, everyone had their ass out, so what’s punk about that now? It’s more punk actually for me to not.'

She told the magazine about her brand of feminism.

'I didn’t want to become any sort of man hater because I love all humans; I am a humanitarian. Beyoncé said, "Girls run the world," and that was an important thing to say because I think subconsciously we are beaten down to believe that it isn’t true our whole lives,' she exclaimed.

The activist also discussed her Happy Hippie Foundation, and her vocal stance on transgender rights.

'When I started speaking up on trans rights, I spent hours on the phone every day talking to experts, so I was able to speak about it from a knowledgeable place,' she remarked.

'I think my connection with trans people is: You should be able to change and be who you are at any time. Like, you should not be glued to gender, to age, to race; those things should not define you. We are born as a blank canvas, and your job on this planet is to take the time to paint it the way you want, and you can f***ing scrape it off and start over again as many times as you want,' she continued.

The performer has made quite a dramatic change since her days taking the stage as part of Miley Cyrus And Her Dead Petz in only a pair of panties and nipple pasties.

She admitted she feels 'really far away' from who she was during that time.

'I just want people to see that this is who I am right now. I’m not saying I’ve never been myself. Who I was on the last record was really who I am. It’s just myself has been a lot of different people because I change a lot,' she said.

However, she stood behind her chameleon-like personality.

'People get told that it’s a bad thing to change. Like, people will say, "You’ve changed." And that’s supposed to be derogatory. But you are supposed to change all the time,' she commented.

Billy Ray Cyrus' daughter got a lot of criticism in her post-Disney life, especially for the risque outfits she wore during her Bangerz days.

'People were so shocked by some of the things that I did. It should be more shocking that when I was 11 or 12, I was put in full hair and makeup, a wig, and told what to wear by a group of mostly older men,' she argued.

She also took the time to reflect on her time as a child star on Hannah Montana.

'I didn’t realize how much pressure I was under and how that shaped me until, like, this year,' she revealed.

Noah Cyrus' older sister especially faced backlash for twerking onstage with Robin Thicke at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, while wearing only a nude bra and panties.

She also faced a lot of outrage for touching herself with a giant foam finger during the televised performance.

'It’s really scary sometimes, someone saying, "This is who I am." People have known me since I was so young, they think they know me. I heard so many comments like, ‘We just want Miley back.’ But you can’t tell me who that is. I’m right here,' she mused.

The publication's cover really captured the 24-year-old's bohemian aesthetic, as she rocked a crown of white daisies around her forehead.

The Tennessee native looked comfy as can be in a matching white Missoni sweater, sitting on the grass and hugging her knees.

The actress' long tresses were done in beachy waves, and she sported minimal makeup, which she actually did herself.

Throughout the shoot, Miley wore her own earrings, and split her statement rings between pieces from Bulgari and ones she personally owns.

In another shot from the spread, the celeb sported Dolce & Gabanna briefs underneath a sheer, flowing, rose-patterned dress from the designer, cementing her transition to literal flower child.

As a part of this transformation, Miley has recently quit smoking marijuana, which she used to do quite frequently.

But she says her break from weed is 'just for now.'

'To quote the wise Justin Bieber, "Never say never." But right now I want to be clear,' she explained.

In another photo, the celeb laid down on a giant, pink flower bed, in a matching, sheer shirt and skirt from Versace, emblazoned with embroidered flora and words like 'love' and 'strength.'

The August 2017 issue of Harper's Bazaar hits newsstands on July 25.
