As the duo hosted the show together, a mother called up the show asking for advice on how to take her daughter on holiday this summer.

Talking during the Holiday Helpline segment, mum Jo broke down as she revealed she was in over a thousand pounds worth of debt due to unpaid rent.

Opening up to the concerned pair, she revealed: 'I really want to be able to do stuff with her but at the moment I'm just affording to feed her [and pay for] gas and electric and to support us as a family never mind any of the added extras that an 11 year-old girl wants.'

Holly, who is mother to three children, and father-of-two Phil looked emotional as they listened to the mum's debts, advising her to opt for a camping holiday.

And clearly in a giving mood, Phillip told the stunned mum: 'Jo, it's our last day, we're in a very good mood - we're gonna sort your debt out.'

'Really?' Jo replied, crying. 'Thank you so much.'

'You're not in debt any more, OK?' said Phil, adding: 'Have a lovely summer.'

And Twitter was quickly flooded with overwhelmed viewers paying tribute to Phillip's good deed.

'Phillip Schofield on This Morning just told a stressed out caller that they would pay her debts! I'm literally crying! #Ilovephillip', one viewer wrote.

'Phil & Holly paying for that caller's debt got me feeling all sorts of emotion', another touched fan wrote.

'This Morning paying off a lady's debt so she can take her child on holiday. So much love for Holly and Phil. Masses of respect!' another added.

Phil and Holly opened the show by announcing it would be their last for the summer.

Explaining that they don't usually host Friday shows, Holly continued: 'Phil and I aren't usually here but it's our last show before the summer break'.

Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford will return to TV show This Morning from Monday, July 17, and will be taking the reigns while Phil and Holly take seven weeks off, returning in September.

Taking to Twitter, Eamonn shared a selfie of him alongside Ruth, writing: 'No I'm not joking about @RuthieeL .... 7 weeks of @thismorning with us from next Monday'.

This comes as daytime presenter Ruth recently admitted she would never host an early morning breakfast show full time.

Admitting they'd declined offers to do so, Ruth told What's On TV: 'I was flattered, but we'd probably be divorced in about six months.

'Two people getting up at hideous o'clock in the morning and always having to be across the news is not healthy or fair to our son Jack.

'As much as I love my work, my family's more important. If Eamonn wanted to do it again I'd be behind him, but it wouldn't be right for both of us.'
