Lo, There Shall Come Endings! "The Dwellers of the Dark Domain!" by DeFalco, Vosburg, and Colletta

Happy New Year, Groove-ophiles! 'Tis a tradition here in Groove City to end the year with a Groovy Age finale. This year, Ol' Groove is gonna lay the final ish of Starfire 'pon ya! We've been digging on the David Michelinie/Mike Vosburg sci-fantasy siren for a huge chunk of 2014 (check out the other issues here), so it's only fitting we end this year with the eighth and final ish, written by Tom DeFalco with art, of course, by Mike Vosburg and Vinnie Colletta. Here's the wrap-up for 2014 and Starfire from July 1977, meet..."The dwellers of the Dark Domain!"

Random Reads: "Freedom Never Dies" by Englehart, Vosburg, and Colletta

Hey, hey, hey, Groove-ophiles! Here comes "Freedom Never Dies" from Starfire #7 (May 1977). This would be the final ish of writer Steve Englehart's two-part fill-in, as well as editor Jack C. Harris' final ish as editor, so lots and lots of plots and subplots and mysteries are tied up in this ish, leaving room for incoming editor Denny O'Neil and incoming writer Tom DeFalco to take Starfire and company in whatever direction they wished. How did that turn out? We'll find out in the near future, baby. For now, dig on "Freedom Never Dies"!

Random Reads: "Citadel of Silence" by Englehart, Vosburg, and Colletta

Hey, hey, hey, Groove-ophiles! 'Tis been waaaaaay too long since we dug on an ish of DC's spectacular science fantasy Starfire, so let's check out ish #6 (March 1977)! "Citadel of Silence" is the first part of a two-part fill-in mini-epic written by Steve (Avengers, Captain America, Batman) Englehart, so that makes it kinda cool. It's also the ish in which artist Mike Vosburg gives Starfire a new outfit (keeping some of the original's Valentina-inspired motif), so that makes it even cooler! Check it out!
