He's as over-protective as any father.

But Todd Chrisley has given 19-year-old daughter Savannah’s new boyfriend Luke Kennard the thumbs up - even though he admits he's not without his flaws.

The 48-year-old reality television star told Us Weekly on Tuesday that he's happy to see his daughter building a 'beautiful relationship' with the NBA rookie.

'He's not perfect. He's a man. Luke is everything that a mom and dad go to bed at night and pray for for their daughter. Are they gonna get married tomorrow? No,' he told the publication at the Mondrian Hotel.

'It's a beautiful relationship that they have and it's a relationship built on mutual respect and understanding of each other's careers and endorsing each other's careers and supporting that and being faithful and loyal to each other,' he added.

He went on to explain: 'They have a great foundation and would we be OK if it goes into something more later on that's permanent? Absolutely because we prayed for someone like Luke to come into her life.
