Smart motorways to get bright orange refuge areas

Emergency pull-off areas on sections of smart motorway with no hard shoulder are set to be painted bright orange in a drastic attempt to make them more visible. Highways England kick-started the trial on a stretch of the M3 near Camberley, Surrey, on Friday after research found that 52 per cent of motorists didn't know what an emergency refuge area was on the routes where hard shoulders were used as active lanes.

Geely's Volvo to go all electric with new models from 2019

Volvo has announced that all new models it launches from 2019 will be fully electric or hybrid. The Gothenburg-based brand said it will launch five new electric-powered models between 2019 and 2021. Aston Martin reveals all-electric RapidE supercar
