'You've got to do something else. It's not cool, man. I've got to do things on a Saturday now, go out and shit you know what I mean?'

Echoing the feelings of nearly two million who tune in each night to catch up with Kem and Amber's antics, he added: 'I like it man, but I don't truly understand the bit where they've got to kip on the floor, outside.

'I'm just into the fact that it's shit, you know what I mean? It's just stupid. I'm not getting anything out of it. I'm not learning anything out of it, it's just on.'

But offering an insight into the life of a rock and roll star, he told the Radio X host that girlfriend Debbie Gwyther was the genesis of his reality TV addiction.

Saturdays and Sundays in the one TV house are reserved for football but the remaining days are his girlfriend's he admitted - leaving Love Island there for the taking.

He tweeted: 'Stuck on the runway some doughnut smoking hes been slung off I mean smoking on a flight how very dare he as you were LG x.'

Fans responded by uploading a snap of Liam smoking on a plane from prior to the implementation of the nationwide smoking ban in 2009.

Liam screen shotted the image, and uploaded it himself with the comment 'c'mon it's not big or clever'.

Amused, Liam screen-grabbed the pictures and shared them himself, accidentally revealing a preview of the other images saved onto his phone, including that of Dom.

Lurking at the bottom among the other picture previews was a picture of ex-Love Islander Dom.

Fans rushed to Twitter to point out the gaffe.

'Y u got a sc of dom from love island Liam, as you were,' queried one. (sic)

Love Islanders Dom and girlfriend Jess Shears enjoyed the nod though, re-tweeting the picture gleefully.

Jessica, who left Love Island three weeks ago, posted: 'Oi Liam Gallagher, I recognise that guy in your camera roll #WhyYouStalkingMyMan.' (sic)

The tweet was then shared by fellow Mancunian Dom, who has since had a complete hair change since the snapchat photo was taken.

Liam's Love Island bombshell came last month at Glastonbury.

Performing on the Other Stage at Glastonbury to a rapturous reception, he told host Jo Wiley he wasn't interested in seeing other artists such as Radiohead perform - opting for a dose of Kem and Amber drama instead.

Liam revealed: 'I watched Dizzee Rascal's set from my room yesterday. And then I watched Love Island.

'That's where it's at. That's what goes on man.'

Taken aback by Liam's admission, Jo said she couldn't believe he was a fan of the show.

But Liam added: 'I've had four years of doing nothing, you know what I mean? I've gotta do something and I've gone to the dark side and Love Island it is.'

The singer has had a resurgence in popularity of late following his imperious performance at the One Love Manchester concert, and his forthcoming debut solo album release.

He even treated fans today to the Oasis anthem Don't Look Back in Anger. singing brother Noel's hit acapella.
