Why it is prescribed : 

This medication is a quinolone antibiotic, prescribed for infective ophthalmitis and sinusitis, chronic bronchitis, acute exacerbation, community-acquired pneumonia, skin infections. 

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications): 

Contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to the drug, pregnant women and nursing mother, children and infants.

Dosage & When it is to be taken (Indications): 

PO- The recommended dose is 100mg twice daily.

How it should be taken : 

It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food.

Warnings and Precautions : 

• Caution should be exercised in patients with history of nervousness, agitation, sleeplessness, anxiety, abnormal dreams, slow heart beat, heart attack, who are taking other medications and in elderly.

Side Effects : 

GI disturbances, peripheral neuropathy, sensitivity to light, dizziness, fever, abdominal pain, headache, epilepsy and super added fungal infection, irritation when applied locally.

Other Precautions : 

Avoid excess dosage.

Storage Conditions : 

Store it at room temperature.
