Windy City winner! Jane Fonda a timeless beauty as she's honored at Chicago International Film Festival

Jane Fonda looked stunning on Saturday night as she was honored at the Chicago International Film Festival with the Gold Hugo Career Achievement Award.

Fonda, 79, wore a black pantsuit with silver embroidery, with diamond hoop earrings and her blonde 'do nicely styled with bangs to show off her face at the event, which was held at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel.

The tribute to the two-time Oscar winner, which was hosted by film critic Richard Roeper, consisted of a cocktail party, in addition to 'an on-stage conversation with Fonda, giving insight into her experience and approach to her craft, accompanied by iconic clips from her illustrious career,' the organization said.

In the onstage chat between Fonda and Roeper, the entertainment veteran said that she enjoys the message she's sending on her Netflix comedy Grace and Frankie with longtime pal Lily Tomlin, in discarding long-held myths about age and gender.

'For a long time I’ve wanted to give a face to older women and show we’re not the stereotypes people think we are,' Fonda said, according to The Chicago Sun-Times.

Fonda said it's in the vein of 9 to 5, her famed 1980 comedy with Tomlin and Dolly Patron that illustrated the issues women faced in dealing with a sexist and abusive male boss, played by Dabney Coleman.

'It had a big effect on what working women in offices were doing around the country,' she told Roeper.

Fonda received an ovation from the crowd, according to the paper, when asked by Roeper how she'd like to be remembered, as she replied, 'I'm too young to be able to answer that.'

Proceeds from Saturday's tribute were to be earmarked to Cinema/Chicago's Education Program, which hosts free screenings for public school students in the Windy City.
