Haylei was a Las Vegas soccer standout. The teen was driving her car near her college campus when she crashed into a fence while merging on a highway, a week before she died. Haylei was about to begin her freshman year of college when she died on July 26 from a fatal plunge over a waterfall while hiking with friends.

Kasi and Shane Pruitt, of Rowlett, had been waiting for months to adopt their fifth child. But when they finally got the call, the process was so fast, they decided to surprise their other kids with their newest addition's arrival. New videos allegedly showing Baltimore officers planting evidence have emerged just days after it was revealed that similar footage (pictured) had led to the dismissal of dozens of drugs cases in the city. The footage is claimed to show several officers in the Maryland city collaborating to place drugs in a car which were later found during a search. The events, which has led to charges being dropped in at least one case, were captured by multiple police body cameras while officers were seemingly unaware that their actions were being recorded.

Following days of President Donald Trump being accused of lying, the White House insisted on Wednesday that two conversations the president boasted of - one with the head of the Boy Scouts of America and another with Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto - actually occurred. They just took place in person, and not on the phone. Both the Boy Scouts and the Mexican government have denied Trump's claims about praise-filled phone conversations. White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said during an afternoon press briefing that the discussions 'were direct conversations, not actual phone calls.'

Chiropractor Glenn Scarpelli and his wife Patricia, ages 53 and 50, leaped to their deaths from a ninth-floor office window in their recently-closed practice in Murray Hill, on Friday morning around 5:45am. They jumped with a suicide notes in each of their pockets, sealed in a plastic baggie so that they wouldn't get bloody after the fall. In his letter, titled 'WE HAD A WONDERFUL LIFE,' Scarpelli said that he and his wife had found themselves in a 'financial spiral'.

A ruthless hitman has revealed the workings of a notorious cartel in his new book and says he's written letters apologizing to his victims' families. Martin Corona, 53, was a top member of the 'Death Squad' for the Tijuana Cartel, known as the Arellano Felix Organization. In a new book, Confessions of a Cartel Hitman (inset), Corona, who was convicted of murdering eight people, revealed his failed assassination attempt of kingpin El Chapo and the moment he pulled a trigger on a pregnant woman in front of her seven-year-old daughter. Corona started working for the Tijuana Cartel at the age of 29. The deadly cartel was run by Benjamin Arellano Felix (left) and his brother Ramon and often times rivaled with the El Chapo-led Sinaloa cartel. Corona said he failed to kill El Chapo (right) during a hit, that saw the kingpin narrowly escape.

Celine Tam (top left), from Hong Kong, first wowed the audience in June when she hit every high note in Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On. On Tuesday night, however, Celine departed from Dion's repertoire and opted to sing Bolton's 1989 hit-a choice that won guest judge Laverne Cox's heart (inset). More than 150 photos from Marilyn Monroe's last ever professional photo shoot - some of which have never been seen publicly - are going up for auction starting from Wednesday. The collection of images were shot in June 1962 just weeks before Monroe's death. The rare, vintage photos were taken by photographer George Barris as part of an assignment for Cosmopolitan magazine.

A college student's summer river floating excursion turned into a nightmare when a man jumped from a bridge overhead and landed on her stomach, sending her to the hospital with internal bleeding. Cienna Cook, 19, a student at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho, was floating on a inner tube down the Boise River with her boyfriend, Justin White-Ammons (inset), on Sunday evening when a large man is said to have jumped off the Baybrook Bridge. The man, who has not been identified, landed on Cienna's abdomen, leaving her unable to walk or catch breath. Cienna's mother, Heidi Cook, said that the man appeared to weigh about 250 pounds, had jumped from about 20 feet up and possibly even landed feet-first onto her daughter's stomach.

Residents of Hyndman were evacuated after a CSX freight train carrying hazardous materials careened off the tracks and caught fire on Wednesday morning. At least two cars carrying liquid petroleum gas and molten sulfur leaked, causing a fire to ignite to the cars and a nearby residential garage. It is not immediately known what caused the train to run off the rails, and the fire continued to burn hours later.

Isaiah Ronmel Martinez was travelling with his father Carlos in their family's minivan on the Sagtikos State Parkway in North Bay Shore, Long Island, on July 26. The father slammed in to the median and lost control, throwing them from the car which flipped and then landed on Isaiah.

The argument broke out inside the Chick-fil-A at River City Marketplace in Jacksonville when a teenage boy started arguing with staff for 20 minutes about getting a refund on his order. Two young women then tried to enter the restaurant despite the doors being locked by the manager. The customer who filmed the ruckus said the women tried to bust the glass and eventually broke the handle off the door. Footage shows the floor covered with straws and condiment packets that had been thrown on the floor by the women.

Nino was found abandoned in a backyard in Memphis, Tennessee, several weeks ago after being tied up months beforehand by his owner Kellen Jones, 27, (top left) who could no longer care for him. When Memphis Animal Services found the dog, he was at the 'worst point of starvation'. They said he had been eating his own feces and dead animals on the ground in order to stay alive.

WARNING: GRUESOME CONTENT - Naiphum Promratee, 36, hung bowls of rice into the animal's enclosure using rope while visiting the temple in rural Phetchabun province, Thailand. But he angered the bear who stood on its hind legs and dragged him into the enclosure, knocking him unconscious before tearing off his flesh with its teeth. Horrifying footage showed spectators trying in vain to scare away the bear as he mauled Promratee. Emergency services arrived just after 11am local time and rushed the bloodied man to hospital, where he is now recovering and able to talk.

A video has surfaced showing the darling moment when an infant is introduced to his family's newly-adopted cat. The clip opens with the white, spotted cat as it serenely reposes on an ottoman, while enjoying a head scratch from the baby's mother. A second later - without a hint of fear or hesitation - the baby throws himself onto the cat's hindquarters and gurgles happily. At first, it seems like the cat intends to ignore the baby's presence. But, eventually it readjusts its position so that it can curl around and face the baby.

This is the moment dozens of baby sea turtles hatched on a beach and made their way to the sea. The video was captured by stunned tourists who only went out for an evening walk on Isle of Palms in South Carolina. It shows the turtles emerging from a hole in the sand and walking to the water's edge before being lapped up by the sea, pictured.

This mesmerising timelapse video condenses the first 21 days of a bee's life into a minute. It shows the bees starting as eggs inside each cell of the honeycomb. The eggs, about half the size of a grain of rice, are laid by the Queen bee, who lays up to 2,000 in one day.

A Japanese Twitter user named Okada shared a clip of herself using her two thumbs to gently remove the skin from a peach and the hypnotic footage has gone viral. Many people were amazed by the video and noted that they had no idea you could peel a peach. Others debated whether or not you should remove the skin of the fruit, and some strangely found the footage to be oddly sexual.

This is the painful moment a man's smashed into a fence when he fell of a 360-degree swing. The man was being filmed by his friends at home in Russia as he stood on the swing and began to build momentum. After swinging for a while he built up enough speed to get over the top and performed a few 360-degree revolutions.
