And Lorde shared a musical sneak peek for her anticipated new single 'Perfect Places' to her Instagram on Thursday.

The 20-year-old, who will debut the video on Friday, released her acclaimed second album Melodrama in June.

The teaser for the video shows the New Zealand-born pop star walking towards two iron doors that slowly open outwards as she approaches. 

She then stops at the doorway to lean against it, placing her hand on her hip and gazing towards the ocean.

The Royals singer cannot be seen in the trailer and no music is featured either, with waves crashing being the only sound featured in the footage.

The Grammy winner's fans immediately flocked to the post's comments section to enthuse over the teaser and describe their anticipation for the song's full video.

'I've never been more ready for anything in my life!' gushed one follower.

The petite stunner features on the cover of Fashion magazine's upcoming September issue, where she discussed Melodrama and staying true to herself.

'The main thing is that you're the only one who has to go home and still be you and live with what you've done that day,' she detailed. 

She added that she makes 'work to challenge myself,' and comes out of it like she's 'run a marathon'.
