US offers a sneak peak of Trump's 'fire and fury'

U.S. Air Force B-1B bombers (main and left) from the military base in Guam (inset) took part in the mission hours before North Korea revealed it was 'carefully examining' plans to make 'an enveloping fire' around the U.S. territory, which is home to about 163,000 people and a sprawling military base. Pyongyang's warning came after President Donald Trump (bottom right) told the country that any threat to the U.S. would be met with 'fire and fury like the world has never seen.' Officials later released images of two U.S. Air Force B-1B bombers from the military base in Guam taking part in a strategic bilateral mission with South Korea and Japan. During a ten-hour exercise on Monday, the aircraft flew from Guam's Andersen Air Force Base towards Kyushu, Japan, the East China Sea, and the Korean peninsula. North Korea said the exercise 'proves that the U.S. imperialists are nuclear war maniacs' while officials in Guam say they have been reassured by the White House that 'America will be defended.'

Hannah Bushell-Walsh details bond with Asperger's husband

Hannah Bushell-Walsh, from Norfolk, details her unique relationship with her Asperger's suffering husband Steve. She writes: 'Even now, when we go out to a restaurant as a family, it is always me who walks in first, who asks for a table, orders and pays. Steve will sit there, his head down. At times, it feels like I am responsible for everyone and that can get tiring. When we were dating, I sometimes found his behaviour hilarious. I'll never forget the party where Steve was cornered by a drunk woman who was clearly attracted to him. She was relaying something to him in a rather emotional manner and, for an hour at least, he just stood there, listening and nodding sympathetically, entirely oblivious to her advances.'

The day the SAS entered Hell at Belsen

By the spring of 1945, the SAS was an established covert force, charting successes in every theatre of war, from deserts to freezing wastelands. In the concluding part of our electrifying serialisation, official historian BEN MACINTYRE reveals the unimaginable horror that members of the regiment encountered in the last days of the war. Lieutenant John Randall and his driver were motoring through forests of pine and silver birch in northern Germany when a terrible smell hit them, a cloying stench of rot and excrement that seemed to hang in the air like a plague miasma. They were the first Allied soldiers to enter Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. At that moment there appeared a smiling figure in SS uniform who introduced himself as Josef Kramer, the commandant. He offered the visitors a tour of the camp, declaring absurdly that he was not responsible for the condition of the inmates.

Diana's rainbow of rare stones & her favourites were fakes

One thing Diana disliked was blending in. And what better way to reflect her vibrant, colourful character than adorning herself in gemstones of every hue? It's not easy to wear colourful stones, but she was unafraid to experiment, as this emerald headband, right, and ruby choker suggest. Heavily tattooed, her shaved hair now visibly grey, she appeared a broken woman when she filmed a video in a cheap room in a New Jersey Travelodge this week. 'I'm fighting, fighting, fighting, fighting,' she sobbed, 'like all the millions and millions that I know I'm one of - to stay alive every day.' But her breakdown comes against the backdrop of an extraordinarily bitter legal battle with her former lover and long-term manager Fachtna O'Ceallaigh (inset). He met O'Connor (right, during a performance in 1990) in the Eighties when she was 17 and steered her to stardom in a partnership that lasted until 2012.
