Saturday Night Live veteran Andy Samberg and his wife of four years Joanna Newsom have welcomed their first child together - a baby girl.

A representative for the couple confirmed the new addition to Us Weekly.

Andy, 38, and his wife married in 2013 in Big Sur, California after a seven month long engagement.

News of the addition may come as a surprise for fans, as the couple didn't broadcast Joanna's pregnancy, according to Us.

The date of birth wasn't specified either.

'I would love a baby someday,' Andy said at the Fox All-Star Party last year, according to People.

Asked if he felt pressure to expand his family now that some of his friends were becoming parents, the actor joked: 'I don’t think a baby is something that you should do because other people are doing it.'
