Boy done good: Mark Wright has revealed that positive thinking bagged him his new presenting job on Extra TV in the States as he credited 'the law of attraction'
He continued: 'I always believed the law of attraction. I always wanted to work in LA and I visioned it would happen that's why I kept putting the work in and kept going over [sic].
'Not many people have done it. I wanted it so bad and it happened.'
The law of attraction is the belief that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts you can attract events and persuade the cosmos to work in your favour.
Inspirational: Mark followed in the footsteps of Noel Edmonds - who has also championed the New Thought philosophy and been vocal about its benefits
Famous role models: Kanye West has also credited the theory with his career success
As well as omitting positive thoughts, Mark has also had to put in some hard work.
Explaining the sacrifices he has made since the job came to him, the star revealed that he jumped off a plane he'd boarded after hearing he could do an interview with James Corden.
He explained: 'In a meeting recently, Extra's Lisa G said "one of the things that got me hired was that she wanted to work with people who want to graft and the fact you got off that airplane that day when you were already checked in and came back just to interview James was a massive stand to me."'
Thrilling: Mark enjoyed success appearing on Strictly Come Dancing and I'm A Celebrity but now the Essex native has landed the biggest break of his career, a full time job on US entertainment series Extra in Los Angeles
After joining the Extra team full-time on US soil, the former reality favourite will appear on the Emmy Award-winning entertainment show alongside Tanika Ray, Renee Bargh, AJ Calloway and hosting stalwart Mario Lopez - as a correspondent.
The Heart FM broadcaster - who will take up his new role when the new series premieres on September 5th on NBC - admitted that the opportunity has yet to sink in after he covered a handful of red carpets for the show over the past three months.
'I'm overly honoured and I'm overly excited,' he divulged. 'It's a bit surreal really and I'm taking aback by it all really. It all happened so fast, but I worked hard making it happen. It's paid off.'
Having already briefly worked with the show before the announcement, Mark has had the opportunity to interview stars such as Lily James, James Corden and Jamie Foxx.

Speaking about the whirlwind, the DJ admitted that the past few months have been a dream: 'Interviewing Mariah Carey was weird. The likes of James (Corden), Jamie Foxx, Lily James, it has all been completely surreal.
'Even working with an American film crew in LA was surreal in itself and working on a show like Extra. The first time I went down to the set to watch how it all works, I saw Mario (Lopez) and it was surreal.'
And while he believes that being star-struck pushes him, he admitted that he had a 'pinch me moment' when he interviewed songstress Mariah Carey in her Los Angeles home.
Hosting: Mark is set to take up his hosting duties during the series premiere on September 5th
'I wouldn't be afraid of being star-struck but I believe it makes me perform better. I'm excited going into the interview and I stay excited for it,' he began. 'You can see in my face that I'm into it, intrigued and that I'm standing across from Mariah Carey, staring her in the eyes, calling my name, it's surreal.
Continuing he said: 'She was really, really nice. Honestly, everything about her, she's down-to-earth, humble, she made time for everybody. She was great.'

'Of course she's always proud of everything I do, and I'm always proud of everything she does,' she said. 'She probably feels the same way I do, like "Wow what an opportunity". She's touched by it.'

Despite being based in the US from September, Mark insisted that his move to Los Angeles will be temporary in the long-run.
'Am I going to say to you that I am going to move to LA and this is me emigrating and never coming home? I'm definitely not going to say that,' he said. 'England is my home and it always will be.
'But right now a path has owned up for me in LA and that's a path I have to follow. You can't be turning down opportunities like this, so right now my heart and soul is in LA, in America and in Extra.
'I'm never ever going to turn my back on the UK, this is my home and always will be. It's all happened so fast... so I'm on the phone to estate agents trying to get everything sorted now, and I'll go back a few days before I start and rent somewhere I suppose.'
