Born and raised in Malibu, California, Francesca has always been around beaches and swimwear. But she didn't think of designing bathing suits until her mom suggested it.

'I’ve always been super picky about my bikinis – the fabric, the cut, and how they fit my body. So my mom encouraged me to have a few custom made and we started the trial and error process of creating the perfect bikini back in 2012,' she said.

'Now here we are 5 years later – and I strive to make bikinis that everyone - and every body type - can feel confident and beautiful in.'

Frankies Bikinis first gained popularity after Francesca's friends started posting photos of themselves in her designs on Instagram.

It wasn't long before stylish stars like Gigi and Bella Hadid, and Madison Beer became fans of the chic suits.

'I think celebs love the originality of my swimsuits. I really strive to stay ahead of the trends and keep my fabric and styles luxe and statement-worthy,' she said.

To make your swimsuits last more than one or two seasons, Francesca suggests   simply giving them a quick rinse after each wear!

Even if you don't get the bathing suit wet, oils from sunscreen can also damage the fabric, 'so it’s important to rinse off the suit immediately after you wear it,' she said.

She also suggests skipping the washer/dryer when cleaning, in order to avoid stretching out your suit. 'Hand washing is key!'

When it comes to this year's hottest swim trends, Francesca says you should definitely invest in suits that offer a 'sporty-chic 90's vibe.'

'High cuts, athletic shapes, athleisure ribbed materials. I’m obsessing over the versatility of it all,' she said.

For the perfect day at the beach, 'A chic pair of sunnies, cellphone, a portable speaker, SPF chapstick and sunscreen –  to prevent sunburns and wrinkles,' is you need.
