The St. Elmo's Fire star looked sophisticated and glamorous as she kept her trademark raven tresses long and loose and parted down the middle.

She sported future fashion forward black loafers with a black box purse as she toted her luggage behind her.

In Blind, Demi plays Suzanne Dutchman, a neglected wife who embarks on a torrid affair with blind novelist Bill Oakland, played by Alec Baldwin, who lost his sight in a car accident that killed his wife.

The pair meet after she finds herself inadvertently caught up in businessman husband Mark's illegal stock market activity.

With Mark placed under arrest and Suzanne forced to carry out community service, she passes the time reading to tightly wound Bill, for whom she quickly develops a strong physical attraction.

Co-written by John Buffalo Mailer and directed by Michael Mailer - the sons of celebrated American author Norman Mailer - Blind was released to mixed reviews across the United States on July 14.

It has been notably criticised by The Ruderman Family Foundation, an organization advocating on behalf of people with disabilities, for employing fully-sighted Baldwin to play a man who cannot see.

'Alec Baldwin in Blind is just the latest example of treating disability as a costume,' the foundations president Jay Ruderman said in a statement to the LA Times.

'We no longer find it acceptable for white actors to portray black characters. Disability as a costume needs to also become universally unacceptable.'

The group likened hiring an able-bodied actor to play someone with a disability to 'blackface,' which sees white people, particularly actors, donning dark makeup in order to appear as a different race.
