The Tik Tok singer has maintained she is fully focused on relaunching her music career even though she continues to be in a lawsuit with producer Dr Luke, who she claimed sexually assaulted her.

She filed a sexual assault civil suit against the Dr Luke in Los Angeles in October 2014 alleging he had drugged her with a 'sober pill' and raped her shortly after her 18th birthday in California and threatened to take away her publishing rights.

She then filed a preliminary injunction request that same month claiming her career had been on a hiatus and will be 'effectively over' if she is not allowed to resume recording with another producer and label.

Dr Luke says the singer made up that story in an attempt to ruin his reputation to try to weasel out of her recording contract.

She signed a contract with Dr Luke - who denied all the allegations of abuse - for five albums in 2005 and has so far released just two, with the most recent, Warrior, which came out in 2012.

The Body Sizzle hitmaker will embark on a 21-date run, her first since 2013, kicking off at Iron City in Birmingham, Atlanta on September 26 and wrapping at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on November 1.

The tour is in support of her first record in since 2012's Warrior, and is titled Rainbow.

She recently said that she made the latest album for her fans, whom she affectionately refers to as Animals.

Announcing the tour, she said: 'I would not have made it to this point without my animals and supporters so now come out and join the celebration with me.'
