Betty Jackson gets playful with papaya as Jo and Leah Wood continue their tour of London Fashion Week

By Eleanor Glover

What better way to take a girl’s mind off man trouble than with a good dose of fashion, and Jo Wood certainly seemed to be putting her estranged husband’s cheating exploits to one side as she hit London Fashion Week with daughter Leah.

The mother and daughteFemail Fashion TV: Highlights from London Fashion Week's Topshop, Ossie Clark and PPQr duo chatted and giggled at the Betty Jackson show today as they sat beside former All Saints member Mel Blatt and comedienne Jennifer Saunders.

Last month Jo’s husband Ronnie was said to have been dumped by his wife of 23 years after he ran off with a teenage cocktail waitress, but that’s not stopping the Wood ladies from enjoying themselves.

Eye-catching: Jo shows off her figure in a floral belted jumpsuit and Lisa Snowdon looks glamorous in black

Dressed in a bold floral print jumpsuit, the 53-year-old was no shrinking violet as she beamed widely behind London Fashion Geek's limited edition orange shades, as seen on Katherine Jenkins and Lisa Snowdon. There were big smiles all round from model/singer daughter Leah who wore a cream lace mini-dress and suede, fringed boots.

Maybe it was the delightful array of designs on the Betty Jackson catwalk which tickled their fancy.

Bright orange or 'papaya', as Betty Jackson liked to call it, added a warm and cheerful note to a predominantly playful show made up of billowing trenches and simple striped dresses, trouser suits and kaftans in chequered and swirling prints, not forgetting a rather raunchy addition of skin-tight hotpants.

In her 25th year at London Fashion Week Betty Jackson, the grande dame of British womenswear, received rapturous applause from the glamorous crowd, which also included TV presenter Lisa Snowdon.

It’s not the first show Jo and Leah have attended this week. Yesterday, the pair where spotted at the exclusive Giles Deacon show and after-party, where model Agyness Deyn made her catwalk debut, as well as taking their place in the front row of Aquascutum and Emma Cook earlier in the day.
