Salmon is the new black! Models storm a lavish tabletop runway in itsy bitsy bikinis, oversized ruffles and A LOT of pink as they debut the hottest Summer trends at the David Jones Collections launch
- Models stormed the runway for the David Jones Spring Summer Collections 2017 launch on Wednesday
- Ambassadors Jesinta Campbell and Jessica Gomes led a host of models down the summery runway
- They were also joined by Australian supermodels Shanina Shaik and Bridget Malcolm
- The eye-popping show was all about romantic reds, tropical prints, lace and soft blues and pinks
Australian supermodels Shanina Shaik and Bridget Malcolm joined David Jones ambassadors Jesinta Campbell and Jessica Gomes on an elegant tabletop runway on Wednesday evening for the eagerly anticipated Spring/Summer Collections 2017 launch.
The striking foursome led a host of models down the catwalk in a sea of bold red numbers, racy lace pieces, swimwear and Victoriana inspired looks as they showcased the new collections in the magnificent On Seven space in front of 330 dinner guests.
In a nod to the SS17 campaign's 'endless Australian summer' feel, the runway featured bright tropical inspired prints and ice blues - each of the looks designed to take you from the office, to the beach, to the bar on a hot summer's day.
And it looks as though 'millennial pink' has well and truly seeped into the fashion world, with countless head-to-toe pink looks appearing on the runway on both male and female models.

Jesinta stunned in an eye-popping leopard two-piece before Shanina (pictured) stepped out alongside boyfriend DJ Ruckus in a stunning floral bikini by Milea - her hair scraped into a simple ponytail
Jessica, Jesinta and Bridget all looked pretty in pink as they posed in a number of fairytale-worthy dresses
Soft pinks and ice blues will be all the rage in the coming months - the pinks likely paired with bold red pieces
The colour is so popular, the show closed with a finale featuring a sea of pastel pink, salmon and eye-popping over-sized designs
The Victoriana look was a recurring theme on the runway, with over-sized sleeves, frills, peasant styles and high necks appearing in a number of the designer collections for the coming season.
Despite the summer months fast approaching, black will also be a wardrobe staple this season with Jesinta, Shanina, Bridget and Jessica all storming the runway in a number of chic black dresses by By Johnny, Aje, Alice McCall and Ellery.
Along with pink, red has been dubbed the colour of the season, with reds featuring heavily in Carla Zampatti's eye-popping collection of crimson mini dresses and off-the-shoulder jumpsuits.

The stunning Self Portrait designs included black and white lace dresses, quirky collared necklines, cut-out pieces and pastel pink lace minis

Ginger & Smart models looked effortlessly elegant in their shimmery metallic get-ups
Rachel Gilbert's glamorous collection was also all about flashy silver embellishments and glittering dresses
The show also offered a glimpse as to what to expect on the beaches this summer, with a preview of some of the playful swim and beach wear trends by Tigerlily, Jets and Camilla.
Jesinta stunned in an eye-popping leopard two-piece by Tigerlily and a maxi worn as a cover-up before Shanina stepped out alongside boyfriend Ruckus in a gorgeous floral bikini - her hair scraped into a simple ponytail.
Tropical prints will also be a beach favourite, with both Camilla and Alice McCall featuring playful tropical designs in their collections.
As expected, the Zimmermann pieces were all about femininity and opulence, with models stepping out in heavily embellished dresses, pink lace looks, thigh-high grey boots and lots of tassles

The feminine, elegant vibes continued throughout the show, with lace, frills, pinks and creams all featuring heavily throughout collection by Thurley, Aje, Zimmermann, Alice McCall and KITX.
At the launch, 330 guests sat down to a lavish dinner with a fresh seafood driven menu designed by Neil Perry.
The new Jets collection saw models step out on the runway in a mix of form-fitting black one pieces with small cutouts and plunging necklines
