David Beckham looks effortlessly cool in gold helmet as he cruises around LA on his motorbike... before getting back to daddy duties and completing a Disney princess jigsaw

He is currently enjoying a fun-filled summer in the States, having been spotted at the golf course with his four kids last week.

But David Beckham made the most of some alone time on Tuesday, as he took his beloved motorbike for a spin around Los Angeles.

The former footballer, 42, certainly looked the part in a grungy sleeveless jacket and striking gold helmet as he sped across the city streets, but didn't spend too much time out on the open road before he was back to his daddy duties.

Taking to Instagram, the father of sons Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, and Cruz, 12, and five-year-old daughter Harper, revealed he was at home working on an intricate jigsaw. 

Uploading a snap of him deep in thought as he completed the puzzle, he wrote: 'Page 1 of the Disney castle , 4000 pieces 490 pages of instructions I look confused but I'm so excited.'

It was an abrupt change of pace from his earlier spin around the streets.

Known for his love of the motor, David looked every inch the biker pro in a black denim jacket, with the sleeves ripped off to display his muscular physique. 

Keeping casual in blue chinos and grey T-shirt, the sportsman then jazzed up his grungy look with a striking gold helmet as he whizzed around in the sunshine.

David is known for his love of motorcycling, and is often seen riding the impressive vehicle when in the US with his family.

Back in 2011, it was reported the former England player had the bike specially made, after sharing an image of his dream motor to his Facebook page, and asking fans to help him identify it. 

His manly day out marks just one of many activities enjoyed in LA so far - having taken his kids Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, fourteen, Cruz, 12, and Harper, six, to the golf course on Friday.

The boys were seen embarking on a competitive round in the sunshine, while their younger sister simply ran along after them and excitedly watched. 

David and Victoria been spending plenty of time with their brood recently, in particular their eldest Brooklyn - as he prepares to fly the nest and head off to university in September.

The youngster is set to relocate to New York City to study photography, but recently admitted he was anxious about moving away from home.

He told TooFab: 'I'm nervous about moving away from my family, that's one thing that I'm really scared of, but I feel like it'll be good for me to live on my own for a bit and really knuckle down on what I really love and study.'

Brooklyn, who describes his father as his 'absolute hero' and his mother as 'beautiful' in his coffee table book, What I See, admitted that he was nervous at the prospect of leaving his family behind - as they split their time between London and LA.

The talented teen - the eldest of the four Beckham children - added that he was grateful for his parents backing, explaining: 'They're so supportive.

'My mum and dad really helped me as well with this book so I couldn't have done it without them.'
