She recently set pulses racing when she shared a scantily-clad snap of herself ahead of Barbados' annual Crop Over Festival, with some even calling the shot 'iconic'.

But many of her fans were baffled by the image, after spotting that the music icon appears to bizarrely have two thumb nails in the sizzling snap.

The abnormality has been pointed out by a number of Rihanna's fans after she posted the sizzling shot on Instagram on Monday.

MailOnline has contacted Rihanna's representative for comment.

However, while some believed it could have been a Photoshop fail, it appears it could have been a piece of blue strap around her wrist poking out.

But her nail saga wasn't the only controversy the shot garnered yesterday, as fans were also left infuriated when Chris Brown posted a comment on his ex-girlfriend's picture.

An explanation? The rogue nail could be a piece of blue string which Ri had tied around her waist and not the result of a Photoshop fail as some have suggested

The Look At Me Now singer, 28, who assaulted Rihanna back in 2009, seemed impressed with her skimpy costume after he posted an icon of a pair of eyes.

However fans were outraged that he would comment, posting: 'Can we all give a collective "BOIII WTF U THINKIN" to Chris Brown's comment on Rihanna's Insta????'

Another fan called him out by saying, '@chrisbrownofficial is now even MORE disgusting.'

Another added: 'Keep your eyes and your hands to yourself sir.'

But Rihanna remained defiant on Tuesday, instead poking fun at the moment she rejected a collaboration with Diplo.

Just hours after the DJ revealed that the singer said his song sounded like 'airport reggae', the Umbrella hitmaker quipped:' #DutyFree My bad @diplo.'

The Cold Water hitmaker said that the chart-topper is the hardest person to get on a track, but he's determined that Rihanna will feature on a Major Lazer song one day.

Diplo admitted he also asked her if she wanted to do Lean On, which ended up having DJ Snake and MO on it, but she considered it house music.

'So I played her a song. And she was like, "This sounds like a reggae song at an airport". [laughs] I was like, "I'm gonna go kill myself".'
