'He was second place': Bachelorette runner-up Eric Bigger calls Bryan Abasolo 'the consolation prize'

After the Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay accepted Dr. Bryan Abasolo's proposal on Monday's finale, runner-up Eric Bigger has been hitting the talk show circuit to express his disappointment.

The 32-year-old attorney said yes to the 37-year-old chiropractor atop a Spanish castle after her perceived favorite suitor Peter Kraus revealed he could not commit all the way.

'From what was shown last night I think Bryan was the consolation prize,' the 29-year-old personal trainer says on Wednesday's episode of Home & Family - according to People.

'He was second place.'

Bigger thought he would have had a better shot at marrying Lindsay had the 31-year-old triathlete asked to leave the 13th season as soon as he knew he wasn't down for the long haul.

'It's like why move forward? [Peter should have] just been honest and upfront,' lamented Baltimore-born Eric, who was sent home after his Fantasy Suite date.

'There's a high percentage chance that I would've been engaged [to Rachel], because what we had was magic. It was powerful. I mean, I don't know if you guys watched [the finale]. It was real for me. It was like what's happened to my life? This is amazing. I think if I were to move forward it would’ve been that much harder for her to pick her top one.'

On Tuesday, the Dallas-based civil defense litigator flashed her new 3-carat platinum Neil Lane engagement ring 'accented by 80 round diamonds' alongside her fiancé in Manhattan.

As for the naysayers like Bigger, Lindsay is enjoying her 'dream come true' and wrote to her 949K social media followers on Tuesday: '#Hatersgonnahate.'

The Marquette University grad is planning on walking down the aisle in 'winter of next year,' and her 6ft2in doctor is hoping for two to three children ('preferably two boys, one girl').

However, the odds are against Rachel and Bryan as out of the 30-some betrothed duos from The Bachelor/The Bachelorette franchise, only six have remained together.
