A wild night out appeared to catch up with former Spice Girl Emma Bunton as she made an appearance on James Corden’s The Late Late Show on Wednesday.

The singer, who is currently featuring on new US talent show Boy Band, revealed she was still suffering after paying a visit to legendary Hollywood nightspot Chateau Marmont with a group of friends the previous evening.

Making an appearance alongside fellow guests Willem Dafoe and Harry Connick, Jr, Emma, 41, admitted her latest night out resulted in an unexpected trip to a local tattoo parlour, where she sat for her third inking since flying to the United States on behalf of her new show.

‘I'm working here on Boyband but it's also my summer holiday,’ she explained. ‘So I went out drinking with some friends, we went to the Chateau. It was good but I have a hangover today. I actually ended up in a tattoo parlour!’

She added: ‘It's something I keep doing. This is the third time this summer I've got a tattoo.’

The fresh inking on her ring finger embraces a recurring theme by referencing her family - husband Jade Jones, 38, and their two children, Beau, 10, and six-year old Tate.

'So I went an got a J on my finger. And Jade got an E! But I felt terrible this morning!'

Emma previously documented an earlier late night visit to the tattooist in an Instagram post shared with followers on July 29.

Adding a shot of herself preparing for the inking, she wrote: '2am in the morning, new tattoo face!!! #excited #LA.'

Emma features alongside Rita Ora and Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter on Boy Band, a new talent show in which young male singers compete to become members of a new five-piece band.

Speaking to People, Emma admitted it was her children who originally motivated her to appear.

'I loved boy bands growing up,' she said. 'And I listen to them now because I’ve got children who love them. When they came to me with this idea I just thought, "It’s perfect for me."'
