Juventus confirm £18m signing of midfielder Blaise Matuidi

France midfielder Blaise Matuidi completed his move from Paris Saint-Germain to Juventus on Friday. Matuidi arrived in Turin for a medical on Wednesday but the move finally went through Friday, PSG said in a statement. No financial details were given, but Juventus will reportedly pay PSG €20million (£18m) plus bonuses for the player, who had a year left on his contract. PSG did not say how long Matuidi's contract is with the Italian champion.

Barcelona pay tribute to terror attack victims at training

Barcelona's players and coaching staff held a minute's silence before training today (main picture) in tribute to the victims of the terror attack in the city. At least 13 people died and dozens were injured on Thursday night when a van ploughed into pedestrians in Barcelona's busy tourist area of Las Ramblas. Barca had already confirmed that players of all their teams would wear black armbands during games this weekend - the senior side begin their La Liga campaign against Real Betis at the Nou Camp on Sunday - while a minute's silence will be held at matches across Spain. Real Madrid (top left) also held a minute's silence at their training session today.

Barcelona news: Paulinho unveiled at Nou Camp
