Langerak skips Australia match to sort out Stuttgart 'issues,' Levante circles

Australia's Jamie Maclaren believes the national side has a strong team chemistry after their recent exposure to test themselves against the best teams.
Australia's Trent Sainsbury admits there is more pressure on Japan to win their crucial World Cup qualifier because they're playing on home soil.

Socceroos goalkeeper Mitch Langerak has been ruled out of Thursday's World Cup qualifier against Japan and has been given leave to sort out "issues" with his German club VfB Stuttgart.

Adam Federici will join the team's camp in Tokyo on Wednesday evening as his replacement.

Langerak, 29, has not played a single minute this season for the Bundesliga side after helping them win promotion from Germany's second tier and is believed to be investigating his options ahead of the closure of the European...

Levante edge Villarreal late in return to top flight; Eibar hold off Malaga

Jose Morales scored the only goal as Levante defeated Villarreal.

A late penalty from captain Jose Morales gave Levante a 1-0 win over Villarreal in their La Liga return at Ciutat de Valencia.

The Segunda Division champions went close at the end of the first half when a header from Alex Alegria hit the underside of the crossbar.

Villarreal almost went ahead in stoppage time when Alvaro Gonzalez saw his effort from a corner saved.

On 65 minutes, Levante defender Chema stabbed the ball just wide from close range and it looked like a disappointing night for the home...

Investigation into alleged fixing of Levante-Real Zaragoza game dropped

From 1977-1980, Banerjee did not concede a single goal against East Bengal.
Real Zaragoza's 2-1 defeat of Levante in April 2011 has caused plenty of suspicion.

A long-running investigation into a potential fix in a La Liga game between Real Zaragoza and Levante in April 2011 has been shelved due to a lack of evidence to demonstrate that a crime took place.

Spain's anti-corruption authorities had maintained that Zaragoza's 2-1 win at Levante's Ciutat de Valencia stadium, which brought three points that saved the visitors from relegation that season, had been agreed in advance.

The official complaint filed by prosecutors in December 2014 named 42 players,...

Levante members offered free season tickets after promotion to La Liga

Quico Catalan has hailed the fans for their role in Levante's success.

Levante president Quico Catalan has said the club will give free season tickets to loyal members when they return to La Liga next season.

A 1-0 win at home to Oviedo on Saturday, their 23rd of the campaign, saw them gain immediate promotion back to the top flight after finishing at the foot of the top division 12 months ago.

Catalan said the fans had been crucial and told Cadena Cope: "All our members that went to watch our team in 18 games will get a free season ticket for next season.

"That is...
