'The 70s called, they want their hair back!' Good Morning Britain viewers poke fun at stand-in presenter Richard Madeley's VERY blonde highlights

  • The 61-year-old presenter is currently standing in for Piers Morgan on GMB
  • Viewers have noticed that the veteran TV man's hair is looking decidedly lighter
  • Some have poked fun at his new do, saying it harks 'back to the Seventies'
  • Richard has revealed that wife Judy isn't interested in broadcasting 'anymore'

As a stand-in host for Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain this week, Richard Madeley has been showing off his sharp presenting style – and his decidedly blonde locks.

Far from following his This Morning successor Philip Schofield into 'silver fox' territory, Madeley, 61, has been instead reaching for the peroxide bottle.

And Good Morning Britain viewers haven't, unsurprisingly, failed to notice the veteran presenter's new do.

Some suggested that Madeley had wound back the clock a little too far, with @simongalcock joking on Twitter that 'the 70s had called and would like Richard's hair back'.

Another user, @grace_w_o_o_d_s, said she: 'feels like I've woken up and it's 1999' after spotting Madeley's dye-enhanced locks.

Fans of the Richard and Judy partnership, which reigned supreme over This Morning from 1988 until 2001, were dealt a blow after Madeley revealed that his days presenting with his wife are over.

Look blooming beautiful in Ranvir's red floral dress from Episode

With the help of stylist Debbie Harper, the Good Morning Britain hosts always get it right when it comes to workwear.

Every day, Kate Garraway, Susanna Reid, Charlotte Hawkins or Ranvir Singh wears a dress we feel we simply must add to our own wardrobe. And today was no different!

This time, Ranvir's red floral print number is by Episode and we love the flattering tie side and 3/4 length sleeves. The colour combination is very autumnal, which is handy since the new season is just around the corner!

The really good news is that this exact dress has now been reduced from £79 to just £27 at House of Fraser. What are you still doing here? Click (right) ASAP!

Madeley told co-host Ravir Singh he'd be happy for Love Island stars Kem Citay and Amber Davies, who are trying to forge out a career as presenters, to take over the reins as the new Richard and Judy.

He said: 'That’s fine with me, we ran our course. We did our time.'

Madeley added: 'She's [Judy] not interested in broadcasting anymore. Richard and Judy are over.'
