Fans of Diana, who was killed in a Paris car crash on August 31 1997, have already begun leaving floral tributes and pictures of the Princess at the gates of her former home, Kensington Palace (inset). Neither William nor Harry (pictured right, with their mother in 1990) are expected to take part in any official engagements on the anniversary of their mother's death on Thursday.

Officers sealed off the road in Belfast after the boys made the gruesome discovery last night. Police searched the Greater Shankill area of the city throughout the night and remain on the scene as the investigation continues. The head was found near an area of dense woodland and the children were heard discussing it having 'grey eyes'. A resident said: 'I heard them say, I thought it was, ''it's definitely dead, I can see the eyes'', but now I'm thinking it was, ''it's definitely a head'' and I heard it wrong.'

The chilling nod that betrayed a killer: Parents who murdered their daughter for 'refusing to embrace Pakistani culture' were caught out by body language experts
A body language expert has analysed footage of Iftikhar and Farzana Ahmed lying to the public about 17-year-old Shafilea's 2003 disappearance from Warrington, Cheshire, for a documentary that revisits the tragic case. It shows footage of an interview given by the parents, during which Iftikhar is asked if he had any involvement with his daughter's disappearance, to which he replies: 'Never. I couldn't even dream of it.' However, according to expert Cliff Lansley - who shares his findings on Investigation Discovery's Faking It: Tears Of A Crime - he gives a self-incriminating nod as he responds.
What should the West do? Trump says 'all options are on the table'. But which would neutralise Kim without risking a world war?
Just when simmering tensions over North Korea’s nuclear missile programme seemed to be easing, its unpredictable dictator yesterday upped the ante in brazen style — sending a missile capable of bearing a nuclear warhead over Japan. It was an act of outrageous provocation. As we have seen, South Korea responded with a display of firepower near its border with the North, while President Trump announced he’d received Kim Jong-un’s message ‘loud and clear’ and repeated that ‘all options are on the table’. His words didn’t have the impact of that ‘fire and fury’ speech aimed at Pyongyang earlier this month, but the threat is implied. Which begs the question: just how long can the White House go on sabre-rattling?
Kim Jong-un was there in person to oversee launch of North Korea's latest long-range ballistic missile test which flew 1,700 miles over Japan
Kim Jong-un was there in person (shown main image) to oversee the launch of North Korea's latest long-range ballistic missile test (inset) which flew 1,700 miles over Japan. Tuesday's aggressive missile launch sends a clear message of defiance as Washington and Seoul conduct war games nearby. Pyongyang said it was a Hwasong-12 intermediate range missile that the North first tested in May and threatened to fire into waters near Guam earlier this month. South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said the missile traveled around 1,677 miles and reached a maximum height of 341 miles as it flew over the northern Japan. Kim expressed great satisfaction over what the North described as successful testing and said the country will continue to watch 'US demeanors'. He called the launch a 'meaningful prelude' to containing Guam, which is home to key U.S. military bases.

Builder who erected a four-bed bungalow for his family hidden behind high trees and hedges is ordered to tear it down
Steve Turley sold a six-bedroom family home for £640,000 before building another property concealed on adjoining land in Yorkley, Gloucestershire. The Forest of Dean Council has now ordered him to bulldoze the property, built without planning permission, following a string of complaints from members of the public. The land was once part of his Yorkley Court Gatehouse, a six-bed family house with stunning views on the main road between Lydney and Yorkley in the Forest of Dean. Planners also say a static caravan has been moved onto the land, portable buildings erected and sheds extended and clad to make them more residential.
Not so Cool Runnings: Four revellers who 'blacked up' to look like Jamaican bobsleigh team during Welsh carnival are investigated by police for racism
The four men covered themselves in black bodypaint and Lycra bodysuits (top left and right) to dress up as characters from the 1993 cult comedy film Cool Runnings (bottom left). But the men who used a wooden bobsleigh sparked a police probe after complaints that their outfits in the street parade in Aberaeron, West Wales, were racist. Their float was one of around 20 that joined in the parade in the seaside town. The men also wore dreadlock wigs and rasta hats and waved Jamaican flags as their bobsled-float was carried on a JCB. But Dinah Mulholland, who stood for Labour at this year's General Election, said their fancy dress choice was 'unacceptable'. But other residents in Aberaeron backed the fancy dress revellers and slammed Miss Mulholland for 'overreacting'.

Mother and daughter sleep on Alicante airport floor after Ryanair staff reject them for their return flight because their hand luggage is half an inch too big
Tania Alston was returning from holiday in Alicante with her daughter Malaika Alston-Ekpei, 12, when they were both told their cases were too big despite flying out with airline Vueling with no issues on the size. Ms Alston was initially waved through, but then daughter Malaika was held back as her bag was measured. As Ms Alston tried to move her daughter's clothes into her case, to avoid putting it into the hold, she was told she would have to put her case in there too, with the airline asking for £100 for it. Unable to pay the extra before her pay day, the pair had to sleep on the floor of the airport to wait for a Jet2 flight the next day, where they were both able to board with their cases. Ryanair said all customers have to comply with the baggage requirements or check their suitcases. What a difference a day makes! Temperatures HALVE in just 24 hours as UK shivers in 2C chill as we wave goodbye to yesterday's sunshine
Just hours ago Britain was bathing in beautiful sunshine following the hottest late August Bank Holiday on record. But the weather in the UK has taken quite a turn today with daytime temperatures cut in half, and torrential downpours set to sweep across the country, bringing an abrupt end to sweltering heat and clear blue skies. Temperatures have dropped from about 30C (86F) to 15C (59F) in some areas, and there could even be frost in the North later in the week. Last night, the mercury plummeted to just 2C (36F) in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire. Among the areas experiencing a huge drop in temperatures today is Frittenden in Kent, which was the hottest place in Britain yesterday with 29.3C (85F). Temperatures hit 28.2C (82.8F) in Lincolnshire on Monday - exceeding the previous 1984 record. Inside the filthy lair of ISIS jihadis: Video reveals dirty hideouts where extremists waging war on the West lived for THREE YEARS on Syrian border
Reeking of death, strewn with dirt-plastered debris, Islamic State's now-captured hideouts on the Syria-Lebanon border were the squalid homes of the desperate. In one three-roomed lair, a rusty stove is stood next to a soiled mattress, with stains of unknown substances across the rough floor. Dirty tissues, petrol canisters and rubbish litters the ground. Graffiti on the lair's dirty grey wall reads: 'Heroes of the Army/Operation Dawn of the Outskirts/ Dedicated to Ghassan Hamieh'. This is just one example of the huts, caves and tunnels that Lebanese troops say ISIS fighters used as lodgings. The terrorists spent three years holed up in this patch of barren territory on the Syria-Lebanon border, after its capture in 2014. Less than a week before MailOnline's visit, the lair had been retaken from militants by Lebanese Army troops, who has ousted 600 ISIS militants from the 46-square mile area in north-eastern Lebanon.
