'I was pacing the airport': Lydia Bright launches scathing attack on Ryanair after the budget airline 'left her stranded in Italy'

TOWIE star Lydia Bright took to Twitter in a rage on Thursday after claiming budget airline Ryanair left herself and family members stranded in Italy.

The Essex girl, 27, launched into a tirade of tweets after being told the flight was overbooked and she couldn't fly as a result.

Denying Lydia's claims, Ryanair said that while the flight was delayed she had not been left stranded and did actually fly to her destination.

The airline's social media team explained that there were seven empty seats on the flight meaning there was no reason why she wouldn't have been able to fly -prompting a further outburst. 

Tweeting directly back, Lydia said: 'If the flight wasn't overbooked, then why wasn't myself and 4 other passengers allocated seat numbers & prevented from boarding?'

Adding: 'I wasn't allowed to board the plane until 2 mins before the already delayed flight departed. I was pacing the airport.'

The star continued her angry outburst to her 1.1 million followers. 

'Trying to rearrange transport for my family, looking into new flights & waiting for somebody to help me. There certainly was a lot of issues,' she fumed. 

A representative for Ryanair has since informed MailOnline: 'This customer’s claims are untrue. We don’t overbook flights, and this customer was not 'stranded' as she boarded the aircraft and flew to London with 7 vacant seats. 

'We apologise for any misunderstanding. Our 131m customers agree, TOWIRyanair!'

The TOWIE star had been holidaying with her mum Debbie, sisters Georgia and Roma and other family members in Porto Recanati, Italy.

The star has been sharing a variety of snaps from her trip, where she has been enjoying the serene coastal setting.
